DA3 might not even be on the xbox 720.

In addition, nothing is preventing the game from being revealed at the Microsoft event, with its fancy graphics.

Interesting, I hadn't heard that. If anyone can find out, it'd be good to confirm.

There's definitely something coming at E3, it's just a question of whether there'll also be DA news at Microsoft's event and/or through a separate reveal some time between now and June 10.

Like people are saying though, we really don't know if DA3 is even being made for the new Xbox or PS4. Rumours and the circumstances heavily suggest it is, but it's not confirmed by any means.

I'm a PC user but it would be quite dumb to not release DA3 on Next Gen consoles.

If the consoles don't come out till early next year and DA3 ends up coming out late this year, I can totally see Bioware doing some PS4/Nextbox ports(Or even better, they've been design with next-gen architecture in mind, leading to better visuals, cpu/gpu/ram usage and optimization on PC).

I don't think Microsoft or Sony would be dumb enough to release their consoles after the holiday season. It's the biggest time of the year for console sales.

Sony and Microsoft will have their new consoles on store shelves no later than Nov 29th, aka Black Friday. Assuming they're planning on releasing them this year of course.

The way I remember it, someone tweeted a dev with a date and a question. The date was the rumored Xbox reveal, and the question was whether they knew anything about that date. The person tweeted (I think Cameron , or Mark, or someone) responded that they didn't know, and Blair pitched in that he had to Google it, so not DA related in any way.

The phrasing makes it seem pretty obvious to me that they're talking about the prior layoffs.

While I'm sad for all who lost their jobs (I lost a few friends at other studios), the layoffs didn't affect Dragon Age 3. Just in case anyone asks and to prevent worrying.

On an unrelated note, DA:O Ultimate Edition has been the top seller for the last 2 days on Steam.

Really impressive! Good to see more people buying into the Dragon Age series, and hopefully it will re-affirm Bioware that DA is popular on PC.

Wow, you really wouldn't want to work in game development. As fun as it sounds to an outsider to make games there just doesn't seem to be much job security. Anyway, I feel for those who lost their jobs....totally crappy news.

The Montréal Studios layoff are true, but they happened in Febuary and late March (it was in the local newspaper). EA only have a BioWare studio in Montréal left.

I know that they have done layoffs. What I'm disputing is another round of layoffs this week. That statement from EA is referring to the previous layoffs and in no way suggests a new wave of them. And that Kotaku article is worthless without verification.
