i can see this being the next reason for ppl to freak out over ability slots and the lack of more than 8 per character

The fact that developers may optimize for older PC's that may or may not represent the bulk of PC consumer base ruins the narrative of the PC master race that consoles are the sole platform responsible for any kind of compromise.
