Bioware seems to follow the exact opposite approach - after all, through Twitter, Commander Shepherd was officially killed, Indoctrination Theory was officially destroyed and the Refuse ending was invalidated.
What tweets are you talking about? I know Emily Wong was killed through twitter, but I didn't see any of those.

Yeah, saying how awesome the game looks without showing us how awesome it looks it telling, not showing. They haven't stuck with their "show, don't tell" policy one little bit.

Sorry, I disagree. We have stuck to the policy 100%.
Neither BioWare nor Dragon Age has said officially how awesome it looks in interviews, on our channels, etc (unless I have missed something. If so, please point it out). If you are choosing to follow staff via our personal channels in unofficial capacity where we talk about how good it is or similar, that is not the same thing anymore than if Mark Darrah says "I like McDonald's fries" makes McDonalds the official fries of Dragon Age.
There is no harm in you following staff to see what we say about our work, jobs, lives, etc but do not confuse that for "official word from BioWare". It is not the same thing.

That defense holds no water IMO. If it's just supposed to be personal expressions and not taken as official statements from developers then why is #DA3 always used in those tweets? That was established as the official hash tag when Inquisition was announced and it's used to keep all things Inquisition readily accessible.

If people truely believe this, as Online Event Coordinator, I will have the Dragon Age team go dark on their Twitter accounts involving work. No more DA week or Sprint Review Day or similar.
I believe that most people can tell the difference between "BioWare says" and "Mike Laidlaw tweeted", but if that is causing confusion or misinformation being spread by us, however inadvertly, I will work with the team to make sure we stick to the "show not tell" comment that we are all following.

If someone from BioWare tweets about Dragon Age 3 and uses #DA3 in that tweet why would any reasonable person infer that that tweet has nothing to do with Dragon Age 3 or its development? Should everything that's been said by developers about the game up to this point be totally discounted since nothing but the game's engine and title has been "officially" announced?

Given the amount of speculation prompted that even random tweets generate, that would probably be for the best.

Keep up the DA Weeks and Sprint Reviews. These are just simple events where us fans can get some tidbits about the upcoming game.
We will get a DA3 reveal soon enough, everyone just needs to be patient and stop crying about everything Bioware does.

This is my point. They're telling us things about the game without showing us anything. I don't understand why Priestly seems so hellbent on defending their adherence to the "show, don't tell" policy when there is no reasonable way to defend it. At all. Trying to turn it around on me like I'm just unhappy about the tweets or sprint review days or whatever is childish.

You're making a mountain out of a mole hill, Clayface. And for no apparent reason, unless your goal actually IS to have Bioware suspend all work-related tweets.

Why does it matter so much to you? You don't seem very fond of Bioware so why are you so concerned with their actions?
They probably are going to use the 'Show don't tell' motto once the reveal occurs, not before.

This is the point in high-school where everybody tells you to keep quiet and don't remind the teacher that we have homework.
Speculation is fun, who cares if its inaccurate or overblown?

This is more chilshishness. I pointed out that BioWare hasn't been sticking to their own policy of showing us the game instead of telling us about the game. This is irrefutable. We know that we'll be forced to be human, have a choice of non-playable origins for our PC, that the game is larger than Origins, that portions of the game take place in Orlais and that companions will have aesthetically customizable armor. There's more, but those are all substantial bits of information that have been disclosed without showing us anything.
Why must I have some goal in pointing this out, let alone a goal of depriving others of information about the game in the future? Chris Priestly made the mountain out of the mole hill when he decided that pointing out the company's failure to stick to its own policy means you hate it when the developers talk about the game.

For the record, I do NOT feel as BasilKarlo does.
You have not "told" us a single blessed thing.
The tweets are a fun dev/community interaction while we wait - and that is all.
Everyone else appears to understand this.
I would hate for one person to attempt to halt something that is so enjoyable to most of the people visiting this thread.. not to mention the devs who get to do the tweeting.

Basil, stop trying to take away our nice things.
Would you people learn how to read? I never said the devs should stop tweeting about the game. I said they haven't stuck to their own policy of showing us the game instead of telling us about it. My earlier post shows that to be true, they haven't stuck to the policy at all. Chris Priestly decided to skirt the subject by insinuating I'm raging against the devs tweeting things or discussing the game outside of official announcements. That was childish of him and it's childish of all of you to just jump on me for something I never even said.

of course I don't want those tweets to stop... I was just a little irritated... every time I read "The game looks awesome" I really ache for anything I can judge for myself...
that being said, keep up the sprint review... I'll just start biting my fingernails then ^^
