Like scrounging enough money to buy a laptop that can run DAI properly.
why would you ever want to buy a laptop to run games. Seriously it is a lot cheaper to buy a cheap laptop for work and stuff and a good tower pc for gaming.

In my case as one example, I don't have the space for a full PC (nor will I be living where I am now for long enough to make buying a PC worth it, only to have to move it somewhere else in a few months, and then move again a few years from now). So a laptop is all I have to work with.
Not so much a question of using one over the other, as it is (at least for me) a question of only having one option on hand.

Well sometimes not everyone has the room for a tower pc (like myself) or the money to have both a laptop and a pc. Also, I have a high end gaming laptop by MSI, which is built a lot better than a lot of gaming pc's.
It's not the year 2000 anymore, gaming laptops and laptop graphic cards are much more advanced than they used to be.
I honestly cant have said this any better myself! I also have a high end gaming laptop which I just bought for the purposes of playing DA: I( and other games).
Which one would you use more? Reply for a chance to win a #DAI leather wallet! http://bit.ly/1wjes7P pic.twitter.com/P0Qzmy1U3b

In my case, it's because I'm constantly travelling for weeks at a time and I want to be able to play game wherever.

Wow, I'd love to get the bag *_*. Could never afford it, unfortunately ![]()

I am not saying that people should never use gaming laptops ever, that would be silly.
However the poster i was replying to mentioned that he had not enough money for a laptop powerfull enough to run DA:I.
I am very aware that laptops are able to run pc games nowadays, but the price is rediculous for laptops components.
It is great that you personally have a powerfull gaming laptop. A laptop like this is however pretty expensive.
I have checked this a lot a year ago while i was contemplating buying a powerfull laptop. A powerfull laptop is a great thing to have but while i am low on money i will go with a gaming pc + laptop everyday because the combination is a lot cheaper.
Additionally i live in a student dorm, i don't really see how someone can't possible have enough room for a pc. It's not that big.

People who move around a lot, or don't have a table available for a monitor. I don't, and moreover like to move my gaming device around my house. Thus, laptop.
That awkward moment when a co-worker has the same name as a romanceable character in our game. "Hey, can you see Cassandra's boobs?"
Hand-editing .dbx files. I feel like I'm back in the world of Eclipse and 2DAs.

Some people are worried that DAI comes out in 2 months but is not in beta yet, do you have anything to comment about that?
I think there are way, way bigger things in life to worry about.
Shouldn't it be in beta by now though?
I never usually follow a games development like this one so I'm really not sure.

While I don't know about timetables, this is how Bioware breaks down development...
Pre-alpha = In production
Alpha = Feature complete (fix bugs & polish, last minute changes) - May 24/14
Beta = Feature & content complete (fix bugs & polish)
Final = Pray to the old gods you guys love the game
- Cameron Lee
Bioware's definition of Beta is somewhat different from the rest of the industry's.
To be honest there is no universal definition of Alpha or Beta. Every company has their own way of developing games and people put far too much importance on terms that are just there to give us a general idea of how far along a game is in it's development cycle.

This is what I think as well based on past comments from various BioWare devs.
For all intents and purposes, I think the stage they're at is what most people would call "beta" considering most of what seems to be going on right now is bug fixing and and polish. BioWare just hasn't publicly declared it as such...assuming there is a stage called beta in their development cycle.
Some more enlightenment on the subject from Allan...
Not very much content is added between Beta and Alpha. Content is more iterated on. It means "no temporary assets" or obvious broken windows like "bad textures" splashed on a level.
It doesn't mean that, for example, the cinematics that Mr. Epler is working on are finished. It means that it exists in the game in some format. Some will still need to have proper animations set up, and fine tuning some other things. But it means we shouldn't have a dialogue line that says "TEMP: Cassandra storms out of the room in response to the Inquisitor's accusation." It means there will be some form of Cassandra animating out in a huff, even if it still doesn't look finished.
Beta (for us) is more "we've finished our hardening passes. Ideally if there's no bugs, the game should be done and ready to go." Except that "there's always some bugs!" So we fix those ones ![]()

Okay, this sounds pretty good then.

Possibly, but that number doesn't take into consideration those of us who've viewed it several times a day since it was first started. I'll claim 1/4 of that number myself.
