I'm starting to wonder if Bioware even knows what the tattoos mean, I could understand them just making tattoos that look good and not worrying about what they represent.

 

And I understand why you want to see the tattoos and know what they mean, but in the grand scheme of things it's still very minor, and if they reveal tattoos I feel they should reveal something for all the other races as well.

I'm not asking that they explain the tattoos or show the new ones before the game comes out, I'm asking that in the CC as you cycle through each one it explains which god it represents. It would have been better if there was no meaning attached and the lore was simply that the Dalish liked to tattoo themselves with nature-like designs.

IIRC there was a tweet from Mike Laidlaw stating that this would not be in the game. I think the best we can expect is a blog post or something similar with the tattoos explained.

I just don't understand the reasoning behind their reluctance to explain the meanings. When people have asked before the answer was always something like "not telling." Now in DA:I all elves are forced to be Dalish and have vallaslin but they still wont explain the meanings ugh
