Nope!

Why wouldn't you want one?

How is that terrific? Just curious, as the thought of running around as a specialization-less rogue or warrior seems rather dull to me. Mages, less so.

If none of them fit your character you're not required to have it anyway.

I'm pretty sure the constant 'you have a specialization point available' plus sign thingy would irritate my OCD into choosing one eventually, even if I was trying to play a character without speccing into one of them. :S

Not having a specialization means you can be very diverse. It would be possible for you to roll a dual dagger + archer hybrid rogue properly. With a specialization, I suspect one has to either choose one of them or can only invest partially in both of them.
So I'm guessing since there is only 3 specs per class that means we can only have 1 specialization this time around? In other words we can't be both a Champion and a Reaver?

Correct, only one specialization, but it matters more.
so, now that Templar has been officially revealed as a spec, can anyone tweet the devs to ask if you choose the Templar spec, will your Inquisitor actually join the Templar and be regarded or addressed as a Templar in the story?
like, will mages treat you as a Templar and react accordingly? or other Templars treat you as one of them?

Yes, the devs have said you can have only one specialization.
And alright, what everyone said in response to my comment makes sense ![]()

I'm also pleased. I have a couple of characters that I don't think any specialization fits, and I'm happy that a non-specialized character is still viable to play.
Are these CG? If they are in-game models, it is definitely impressive!

I've been wondering the same thing myself. I really can't tell.
Guess that's a good thing.
... or I have a terrible eye for this sort of stuff.

They said the choice of only allowing 1 specialization was made so each one could have a great gameplay and story impact. It surely would be cool if you were acknowledged as a Templar if you chose that specialization but I'm not getting my hopes up.

They don't look at all like the in-game models of characters. I mean, graphically. So yeah, those are not in-game.
I'm thinking more that they don't want us to be able to change the specs for the companions.
Which is kind of annoying. I wish they'd just give us powerful tools and let us use them as we see fit.
They shouldn't not give us rope just because we might hang ourselves.
Sorry Sylvius ... All the DA2 whiners wanted choices that matter, so now everyone gets an allotment of rope. The powers that be cannot allow willy-nilly picking of specialization as if the choice does not matter and can changed on a whim. ![]()

The #DAMP QA team tells me after many months of staring / hammering away at multiplayer 8 hours a day, IT IS FUN! ![]()

How can I tell them that due to the finaling I have no inner monologue?
Not being able to change your specialization doesn't concern me at all. It's what a lot of games have done in the past. I mean, I remember having to stick through Titan Quest with a chosen specialization I didn't even like, yet I made the most of it.
And considering the reactivity they've been promising on some specializations, not to mention that we may learn them through certain quests or by some NPC's, it makes a lot of sense that we won't be able to change them. It's just another choice of which the consequences are something we have to deal with, whether we like it or not.
OMG someone else played Titan Quest? YAY!
Why wouldn't you want one?
More options are good. It increases the chances that going without a specialisation might have some advantage. And a forced choice is less of a choice. Having to choose among A, B, or C is less interesting that choosing among A, B, C, and None of the Above.
