Also, hard to be sure at this resolution, but it looks like the dancer is looking in our direction rather than at her partner. I think that's part of what makes her hand (which also faces us) look suspicious.

Has it been pointed out yet that the next pictures provide a representation of the gender/race-choice when the player is creating his/her Inquisitor?

Yeah, i was thinking that could be the Inquisitor tarot cards. If so, they are way more specific than i thought they would be. Some people probably won't like them, should they appear in the game (often). I don't mind if they don't exactly like my character.
