To  person who inquired about Viv's tarot card, all I can say is - Lighten up!!!  (irony intended)  The first thing I thought when I saw that was 'omg, Viv is so bootifuls!!!'

 

I think whitewashing is a valid concern - it happens a lot, like to some of Isabela's depictions, for instance.

 

That said, I don't think it happened in Vivienne's tarot card. I think the light is hitting her differently at different places, so her arms appear lighter (but still a non-white shade), and her face/shoulders are clearly dark-skinned.

Poor word choice. I do indeed realize that not all POC are not from america, but I always hear POC referred to as african american, so it was the word that popped in my head. Sorry if I offended, certainly not intentional.

Well, he's riding a griffon. In my book, griffons win against majestic steeds of any color every day, even if they're extinct in Thedas.

Gamlen looks differently depending on Hawke's appearance. So hardly it's him.

The portrait reminds me of Samson somehow, but he could be as well someone we've never met before.

Even the term "person of colour" is kind of offensive too, actually. White is a colour as well, just as black is (not to mention that white people aren't really 'white', and black people aren't really 'black'). Why are black people 'coloured', and white people aren't?

 

Or is it that black people are 'coloured' to white people because they're non-white, so white people are entitled to call them 'coloured', and vice versa for black people being entitled to call white people 'coloured'?
