Fernando Melo @DiscoBabaloo 30m

Also, Edmonton Expo starts today: We're in Hall C. Come say hi to our devs, they'll be signing things. (also panels)

Amy Mollohan @AmyM326 18m

@DiscoBabaloo Wish I could be there! :( Will you all be showing any new Inquisition info you think?

Fernando Melo @DiscoBabaloo 5m

@AmyM326 Mmmaybe. There's a DA panel on Sunday, so who knows what sleep deprived devs will have in store for that :D

Amy Mollohan @AmyM326 3m

@DiscoBabaloo What percentage do we have that those sleep deprived devs will show us pics of Cassandra and/or a CC video? lol :)

True, but it feels like they're struggling to reach Gold. I mean one of the devs just tweeted that they finally got the music working for one level. Sounds like they still have a lot of bugs and tuning up.

I think it usually happens a month out? Don't quote me on that, but they still have a couple weeks before we (More importantly, they) should feel terribly concerned. This is why they needed the additional month, I guess.

I could live with another month of delay if they need it personally, nobody wants a buggy game.

I agree nobody wants a buggy game, and I want it to be as great as possible, but I think I might actually cry if they delay it for another week let alone a month. Please let's all just be positive and give the devs our support so they can feel supported and get everything they need done and get it out Nov 18.

It's almost here people!

Me neither. My problem is that I used up a lot of vacation hours for October 7th that I couldn't take back when DA:I got delayed. Then last week I put in my remaining vacation hours for the week of November 18th. I mean yeah we don't want a buggy game, but at the same time if the game gets delayed again then I've completely wasted my vacation hours. That's why I'm a bit paranoid.

They've mentioned that they should have min spec nailed down by Monday.  That tells me they're getting close to Gold.

I read that too, and I truly believe they will be ok and announce Gold on the same week as they release the Keep to the public.

You realize software development doesn't really go 'gold' two months before release? They work on patches and fixes right up to release, then continue working past release. My company just pushed a production build and we were working all the way up to the deadline. We didn't finish everything two months ago then just sit on it for a while.

They are progressing as expected from a s/w dev perspective. There will always be more defects. Something like adding music to a level is just putting the final touches on the level (and remember, a level is something that lasts for a hours and hours, it is an entire zone, so that isn't something that gets done first).

They are probably toeing the line a bit because they want to push everything they can into it since DAI is (hopefully) a turning point from the down hill ME2, DA2. (ME3 really was the turning point, it was so much better than ME2, it just gets over looked because the ending eclipsed all the good work and design decisions that went into it).

I like the way you think and the way you explained this and hopefully with your software experience people will believe you and trust in the developer process a bit more.

We should be focusing on our excitement and hope, not fear and paranoia.

Viva le Inquisition! <3

Nah it had a lot of problems that hurt the game. It wasn't just the ending.

It had some problems (The ME SP carry over, Ending, random fetch quest nonsense, and linearity of the campaign), but all in all I felt it was a pretty big improvement over ME2 (I enjoy the rpg aspect more than the shooter aspect and ME2 focused on the wrong one of those imo).

But anyway, back to DAI: I really want to see a video about the character creator, or spec info, but then if I do see one it'll be an even longer wait lol

Common list of complaints:

1. Majority of choices didn't matter.

2. Poor execution of the War Assets system.

3. Many characters received poor treatment.

4. Fetch Quests.

5. Bare bones exploration.

6. Kai Leng.

7. Final Mission was underwhelming and rushed.

8. Tali's Face.

9. Intro was uninteresting and poorly done.

10. A lot of the game was catered to newer players rather than the old. This hurt the quality of the storytelling.

11. Day 1 DLC with a Prothean.

12. Massive inflation of autodialogue and removal of the neutral option.

Admittedly each one of these things individually on their own wouldn't hurt the quality of the game. But all of these things combined? The game suffered from more than just the final 20 minutes.

Yes back to DA:I, but I needed to have my say on it.

Allan Schumacher @AllanSchumacher

Is it true that Allan is a dialobical [sic] monster?

Words like "diabolical" get thrown around a lot these days.  I'm sure "evil genius" is closer to the mark.

These all hurt the game, but honestly I still loved it to death.  But it's just a matter of opinion, I guess.  I get very defensive of ME3 so maybe we should just end it there :P

My problem is that I have wanted to romance Cassandra since DA2, but I also want to play as a female qunari :(

Unfortunately, for the first playthrough, having a character I can enjoy takes priority over romance options. I'll have to romance Cass in my second playthrough, which will be a mage.

I'm advantaged, a bit there. I'll be a abroad, and away from my new console, until late December anyway, so a delay for me would only affect how soon spoilers start to populate the Internet. ;)

Last I'll say on the subject, for the sake of being on topic.

Cassandra tho, :D
Sometimes I miss the companion trailers DAO got, but this is pretty awesome.
