That actually wouldn't do a lot of good for this specific example. The time listed in that tweet was PDT. Edmonton is currently in MDT.

Yeah, I looked at that and couldn't remember there being a defined relationship that way.  Didn't really see them as friends or enemies, just acquaintances.

There's actually a lore reason for this.

Spirits love to copy the things that mortals make. Because of the Breach, their copies are bleeding back into the physical world. Since the Veil is so thin in Kirkwall, a disproportionate number of these are copies of Hawke's stuff.

Malcom made his own staff.

 

Nothing ever said where he got the plans/designs for it from.

 

He probably saw one like it in his days as a mercenary.
