I had no clue, i'm not american.
I can assure you, if Viv had been white, i would have worded it the same.
No need to reword anything, just don't read something into it that it's not. ![]()

Livestream on Twitch
Join creative director Mike Laidlaw and producer Cameron Lee for a Dragon Age: Inquisition livestream event Monday, September 29th on Twitch. The stream kicks off at 10am PDT / 7pm CEST with a first look at Inquisition’s deep character creation tool, and we’ll customize an Inquisitor from scratch with your suggestions!
Come along with us as we dive into a gameplay demo and explore a never-before-seen area of the game! Hang out in our live chat and interact with us. Have questions about Inquisition? Want to give us suggestions to tweak our Inquisitor’s appearance? We want to hear it.
After the stream, head over to Twitter use the hashtag #MyInquisition to tell us how you are going to play Dragon Age: Inquisition.
See you there!

BSN. I believe we can do this. We have to do this.
WE MUST TEAM UP.
With our suggestions. We must decide what we most want to see (vallaslin? qunari horns? scars? nose shapes?), and then make sure we get to see just that. If we team up, I believe we can do it. Come on, BSN. For the team.

I'm just pointing out that it could be hurtful to people considering how it has been used and is still used in America, where many posters and readers of this board live. If you want to insist that it's not a problem because it doesn't impact you where you are, then that's fine. But it's still something people are going to read into, whether or not you want them to and whether or not you think they should, and it's utterly unnecessary when there are several other words to use that are less incendiary/racially charged.

Agreed. I say we do Female Elf. We really haven't seen female Elf.

I'm hoping for male Qunari. There have been two screens of female elves, none for male Qunari at all, actually, it has been mostly females in total. Only males we've seen are Ryan's elfquisitor and a dwarfquisitor from one of the early gameplay demos (whose face is never shown).

One of the Elvhen it is.

I agree that we haven't seen enough Male Qunari but I still want Female Elf because that's what im gonna be and I wanna know the level of customization for those ears lol.

I'm planning to be a male Qunari so...
.
See? We are divided already. That's why we have to collectively decide what we want to see. We can't see everything, after all, I guess.
But anyway, back to the Tweets. I suggest we take this to the discussion thread about the demo.

This is why I plan to make a video for each race/gender combination if the CC is part of the trial version of DAI that comes with EA Access. That way every race of each gender will be shown in detail.

I'm hoping for more female Qunari Inquisitors, but I'm terribly biased. :S
We haven't seen many dwarves, so I hope they get some attention too.
How about something very boring like Male Human? Why, you ask? Save the best parts (male Qunari, female elf, male/female dwarf) for when you actually get your hands on the CC yourself. Savory the "flavor" as it were.

Don't diss human males!!!!!!
Just wanted to say that, as an American, I've heard and even occasionally used the word 'uppity' all my life and only recently discovered that some people ascribe racial connotations to it. I don't think the poster needs to censure the word simply because of implications some people associate with it.I'm just pointing out that it could be hurtful to people considering how it has been used and is still used in America, where many posters and readers of this board live. Human males are the worst!
....and I just realized this was the twitter thread. Sorry for the derailment.

I apologize for trying to point out that something s/he wrote is considered offensive and hurtful to people who do not deserve to be offended or hurt. I sometimes forget that the experiences of some are less valid than other's.
Now, to get back on topic: personally, I would like to see a male qunari, just because we haven't really gotten a great look at them in the game yet.
The only one I think we've seen literally nothing in game of, and I might be wrong, is the Female dwarf, so they have my vote for the CC race/gender combo.
Nor does the poster deserve to be censured. I only mean to say that the usage of the word should not be barred simply because one subset of people ascribe meaning to it that people like myself and the poster do not intend and are unaware of. When we use the word, it is not a slur nor does it carry any racial connotations (I was quite baffled when someone told me it had anything to do with race).I apologize for trying to point out that something s/he wrote is considered offensive and hurtful to people who do not deserve to be offended or hurt.
