I've got my ideas, but we'll see. :) I think Tonia wrote Charade in II but it's not been announced what she's writing this time around.

“Until We Sleep” is about struggle, and how we must keep struggling so long as we live. We also dream, for dreaming is what makes those struggles worthwhile.

Shades of FFXII is what I get from this. Should be interesting to see how he finishes up the comic series.

I saw a listing for a hardcover edition of Those Who Speak to be released early next year. I was wondering if I should just buy the individuals; it looks like I can wait!

I'll check out the lore book, but I sort of wish it was coming from a different publisher. I may end up not picking it up.

I picked up Dark Horse's Art of the Mass Effect Universe companion book and I thought it could've used a bit more lore.

Hoping the DA one does actually have lots of text explanations and entries, art on its own isn't really satisfying in a book like this.

(Chris said it wouldn't be just walls of text with no art, which is great, but I'd prefer that to walls of art with no text.)

Mike had a message on Twitter about the DA2 companions cheating. I'm embarrassed to say that his response actually made me happy.

I must admit to worrying that David and the team would meddle in order to use the characters they still can (now that Hawke got the shaft). I hope Mike's statement is absolute, and not just in terms of the player being the one to screw up Hawke's relationship.

I am also very curious who else they were going to hook up in Exalted March. Hopefully David can tell us someday. (I also got really bummed when he mentioned him and Sheryl getting sad about it; I may not have as much cause, but it made me sad too!)

Yeah, that's what I was referring to.

He mentioned that there was another couple that was supposed to hook up, and I'm really not sure who.

He'll have to tell us eventually, because I'm definitely not going to forget. :-)

That's a shame, I always wanted those two to hook up... Would've saved Carver some money, instead of visiting the Blooming Rose all the time lol.

All I can say is... thank God for that. That's the one thing I'll say makes me glad Exalted March got scrapped.

Possibly, but they already hook up in-game. Just on a FWB level. I would've thought the other one would've been Sebastian and Bethany.

Wow. It is both amusing and frightening to watch the Cullen fangirls on these forums. And you know what? It's pretty cool.

Aw come on, we aren't all that bad... :-S

Pffft, this is nothing compared to Varric or Anders or Sebastian back in the day before DA2 came out.

I just LOL and move on.  But I do like Cullen, ever since DA:O.

Why? Because you don't think they fit each other, or because it's one of your favourite LI? Isabela and Fenris have a sex friend relationship, and Carver even hits on her in Legacy/MotA (don't remember, I read only the banter) when Hawke is involved with Isabela. I don't see the problem with that, or having Carver and Merrill be together if the player didn't romance her.

Primarily the former, but a little of the latter I'll admit.

Here's what I said about it a few days ago.

The Ethereal Writer Redux wrote...

Somewhat related: I was fine with Fenris and Isabela hooking up -- that seemed to be purely physical relationship between the both of them, as opposed to a commitment -- and I was fine with the idea of Sebastian and Bethany.

But I wasn't fine with the idea of Carver and Merrill possibly hooking up -- though in fairness, it's mostly one-sided "flirting" from Carver -- because it didn't really seem like it made much sense and was only being done so the companions are with other companions -- which seems a great deal like overkill to me.

Merrill's a blood mage. Carver begins to despise blood magic after seeing it in Tarohne's quest. Add into that the fact that he'd be a Templar on one route, and that his dialogue with her in all forms seems to err more towards a physical lusting of Merrill rather then wanting a relationship...

and I'd be really opposed to the prospect of them getting together.

Which, yes, I'll admit makes me seem somewhat possessive of Merrill on one front, but on the other I oppose it from a writing perspective (IMO, anyways). Also, a somewhat emotional one, as it seems like Carver's trying to take advantage of her -- during Act 1 anyway -- after she's going through a tough time. Whereas Hawke -- a Friendly one, anyway -- actually takes the time to get to know her.

So I'm not against companions getting together with other companions in general -- Nathaniel/Velanna, Isabela/Fenris, Sebastian/Bethany -- but I don't think it should be done just for the sake of it or even overdone -- Carver/Merrill banter.
