Typically games go gold a month before release, right?  So I'd say it'll be in like 2 weeks, yeah.

I'm not sure if it's a stream. I think it's one of the gameplay videos they've been putting on Youtube. I could be wrong.

Whether or not I or anyone else agrees with it, there is a sizable segment of the playerbase that just wants to pick their favorite companions and walk out the door and not worry about whether they prepared right.  If there were healing spells instead of a fixed amount of potions or focus based abilities, I think people would be much more secure in their ability to react to the threats in the game world.

 

And assuming this new system is balanced well, it's actually a boost to those very players, in case their favourite companions don't include a healing mage. The game is now balanced around not needing to bring Anders that annoying mage you only tolerate for the AOE heal.
