Damn, I ordered it a few days ago.  Oh well.  

 

Can't wait to read it.  Without giving spoilers away, does it seem to tie into Inquisition's plot?

I really am a huge fan of the Dwarf origins and the intricacies of Dwarven culture in DA but seeing this fact in the CC video and this tweet now...it never really connected with me that - in fact - all of my favorite Dwarf characters are actually American-esque in accent!

 

Seriously, I've even taken Alistair and Morrigan to Orzammar a time or two and the difference never stuck out to me as a cultural difference! I guess I'm in such an American standpoint that I would hear the British/UK accents and take notice and then just hear the American-style voices as accent-less and therefore below notice. Totally fits and makes sense though, of course.

I just assumed the Dwarves were Canadian, myself.

I just assumed the Dwarves were Canadian, myself. 

 

Right! They could easily have a range of most North American accents (I should have framed it that way in my first post) but my own culturation to ignore my own accent range really shocked me. I mean, of course this culture was planned to have a dialect and accent range just like they all were but I've legitimately spent hours and hours with this group of characters and never put 2 and 2 together (or really, 1 and 1, it's such a blatant fact of the Dwarf voice acting). My biases are blowing my mind here, heh, sorry to derail the convo.

Well that depends on how much Grey Warden content is there in the game. Hard to tell at this point.

Not directly as far as I can tell. It certainly has relevance, but unlike Asunder and TME which both has very clear lines to DAI, Last Flight seems to be more tired to the history of the wardens as a whole.

Nevertheless, it is an excellent book I can wholeheartedly recommend.

From my understanding, that is the convention : North American for Dwarves & Qunari, British for Humans and Elves.  I'm going to do my best to stick to that...but if one voice is more yummy than the other, well I can always head canon away any inconsistencies lol
