Well, it seems templar abilities have been expanded to include anti demon abilities and possibly some party support. So it might turn out just fine for Cassandra.

Why would it not make sense if Cassandra, a member of the Seekers of truth, an elite subsection of Templars, has Templar training?

How would it make more sense for Blackwall to be a Champion rather than a Templar? We don't know his past yet other than he has been a Warden for a long time.
Plus Carver received Templar training while in the Wardens.

Actually, its not stated at all if theres any difference between Tevinter and Chantry Templar abilites. So Tevinter Templar likely still need lyrium to boost their abilities.

He had still had the power in Asunder. Nothing says a Seeker can't learn the abilities after they join the Seekers.

Except DG has said that Imperial Templars don't have anti magic abilities, and that they are merely foot soldiers.

Because Seekers hunt apostates too, and are apparently often dispatched to take care of the most dangerous ones. I can't see why that would be the case if they didn't have any sort of anti-magic specialty as well.
Are you serious? Well, so much for hoping they have unique specializations.
I hope this means Blackwall has the Templar specialization, because it will make no sense if Cassandra has it.

Wow...sounds like I will never use bull since I planned my inquisitor to be a 2h qunari reaver, I wonder how effective he could be if I respec him and don't put points in the reaver tree...Iron Bull was already shown with the Reaver spec in the E3 demo
