Yep! A few of the digital options are technically available that night before because "midnight" is a little vague for a whole release region. I can start playing on PC (digital version) at 11 pm on the 17th =)

I got that as a gift this year. It has two modes - one that simulates the game, and the other that plays as a Risk game (Alliance, Cerberus, Reapers factions).
What's Risk?
A world war strategy board game, where everyone is carving up the planet in global conquest. Like Clue and Monopoly it's very popular, and has spawned many different specialty versions from Lord of the Rings, to Halo, to Star Wars...and of course, Mass Effect

If you're in Greenland? Only thing I can think of. The unlock typically goes by region (so all of the Americas unlock at the same time, which should be midnight East Coast time).

Heh, maybe they are doing some strange thing where every time zone unlocks at x +/- midnight, where x is randomized for each time zone (between 4 and -4). Or it could also depend upon platform. Maybe Origin unlocks at a different time than PS4/XB1/PS3/XB360
