...which would seem to confirm that followers have the same versions of the skill trees as the Inquisitor, something many people were wondering about, rather than their own unique variation.  

 

They confirmed this a week or two ago, actually.

Inquisition seems right around the corner.

If you do not recruit the follower, you can not obtain the specialization.  How can you preview something if your character does not know it exists?

Actually the specializations are gained from quest givers, separate from your followers.

... and it is coincidence that each of the nine followers each has one of the specific 9 specializations?  Followers have trained wardens, warden commanders, and Kirkwall champions in specializations in previous games.
