This post goes out to our real-life Andraste known as Hrungr, or any anyone else who happens to come across this and would like to help a brother out. I've compiled some important questions I think a lot of people would be wondering and I have a feeling most of them the devs wouldn't mind answering. Would you guys tweet them?

 

Questions labeld with a * are the most important questions I have. If you are going to ask any of the 6, please make sure you ask those. Thanks!!

 

* 1) Are the focus abilities in the specialization trees different for companions and Inquisitor(s)? For example, Varric's focus ability is Hail of Arrows, which seems tied to his character.

 

* 2) Is it possible to toggle headwear separately on Inquisitor(s) and companions like we were able to in Mass Effect 1? Or is there only a universal toggle that removes everyone's headwear?

 

* 3) Is it possible to change some of the control mappings on consoles? For example, changing the basic attack to the A/X buttons and making interact/jump on the RT/R2 buttons.

 

4) Is what we heard in the latest stream (October 20th) Skyhold's default OST? Does it change situationally? Can we mute it?

 

5) Are spells and abilities still in development or have they been finalized? I've noticed Stonefist and Haste have been removed from the Mage trees, unless they have been relocated to a specialization.

 

6) I've noticed Mage abilities are more focused on status effects and less on damage. Is spell power proportionally tied into the base damage of the staff? 

 

A lot of these have already been answered a bunch of times.

4.  They said the drums was just something piped over, its not part of the game.

 

5.  Nothing's being changed, they are just polishing

5) Literally spells that were present from E3 2014 are no longer there. It's worth asking if they've been relocated or taken out.

Your first question was answered somewhere too I'm pretty sure, but I don't know the answer off the top of my head as it has to do with videos I'm not paying attention to for spoilers

I don't, I kinda want to say it was whatever thing that showed most of the companions specs, initially, but that's most likely wrong.

Really now? Hmm. Wonder how'll they give an explanation for Haste being a Necromancer spell...

As for Haste... I have no idea. I'm sure they'll come up with... something. :lol:

 

I asked the Devs about the controller remapping on consoles earlier so I'll hold off asking them any more questions today. They're in serious crunch mode right now (and the BioPlague is hitting them hard) so best not to overdo it... ;)

Well, it would explain why zombie in the zombie films of the last ten years have all gotten a lot faster.  Improvements in necromantic technology :P

We've seen Haste and Stonefist be used by Vivienne in gameplay vids, and it's pretty much confirmed that she's a Knight Enchanter, right? So it doesn't make sense.

We've seen Haste and Stonefist be used by Vivienne in gameplay vids, and it's pretty much confirmed that she's a Knight Enchanter, right? So it doesn't make sense.

 

Those were older gameplay videos and they've shuffled things around since then. In an earlier gameplay video Viv used Firestorm - but it's now a Focus Spell for the Rift Mage.

From the look of thing, they re-balanced their talents trees and moved some "classic spells" to the specializations. Firestorm and Stonefirst are Rift Mage only now. There is also a lots of new spells. You can check the Skill Trees thread for more information.

Stone Fist is a Rift Mage skill now and I think it was the qunari mage using that one not Vivienne. Haste is a focus skill and focus skills are now in the specializations. 

 

KE's focus skill is resurgence but it's possible companions have their own focus skills or that the focus skills have just been changed since e3.
