On the Iron Bull "red head" photo.

 

On one hand, I can absolutely get that people have their preferences. I know tons of men who adore redheads. Redheads have a lot of feisty attributes associated with them that add to their appeal. If Iron Bull prefers red heads, more power to him.

 

But I am also acutely aware that red hair is solely a Caucasian thing. So, a man who says he has a thing for redheads will, rightly or wrongly, signal that he prefers a certain ethnicity as well.

 

Was that the intention? I am confused.

 

Full disclosure: If one happens to prefer a specific ethnicity because their aesthetics appeal to you more, that is your business. I am not interested in a race argument. I am only interested if this is intended to signal an ethnic preference on part of the character.

I don't think one should jump from an aesthetic preference to anything more than skin deep attraction.  Just because I find light skin tones more attractive doesn't mean anything more than that I find the physical attribute attractive.

Agreed, although I think Bioware officially streaming it will make it feel much less like a "spoiler" to people, I imagine. Hopefully most people who post in this thread will understand, but its a much greyer area than a YTer who clearly broke the terms of his agreement (however unintentionallly!) and was given after the fact "well ok" by the devs or an art book that was accidentally released early.

So for people who post a lot in this thread, if you see a post after yours that seems spoilery, editing your post to put in a warning like was done before here and in other threads would be much appreciated!

I hope it's not necessary though. Most people here seem very thoughtful.

Edit: a thread title change could include something like "Prologue Twitch Stream--Spoil Tag Any Comments About it", maybe?

Look, I am very sorry for posting that question.

 

I just intended it as "what does he mean because that is not a universal human trait?" question, more about his motivations behind that comment in his photo. I caveated the heck out of it, but I should have known better. I apologize and I'd request that I not be referenced because it will only end badly, and I am very sorry for derailing with any implication of race.

It's not a terrible thing to talk about, but its one that would certainly inspire a lot of conversation, some heated, and thus would derail this thread...which we try to be very careful about. Kudos to you for editing it out and stopping the conversation. I'm sure there's another thread where you could discuss it, although I don't have a lot of faith that it would go well.

Hmm, I think I may actually watch. Because I too watched Joe play it, I feel like I've already spoiled myself so I might as well go the whole way (in the prologue anyway).

Agreed. I hope they don't skip cutscenes though. If they are going to show it, then they should show it all. It will only be 3 days after the stream before I get to play it myself, so I don't feel like it will be much of a spoiler.

Yeah, I'm not going to watch the prologue stream neither. I don't want to spoil myself this magic moment.

 

It looks like tommorow is going to be my last day on BSN. Let's be realistic - there will be at least one person who will spoiler the whole thing in one of the threads. It's best to go dark.

Bioware may be doing this before those utilizing Streaming and vids reveal it themselves. But I empathize; will not soon forget the feeling I received from the scenes from Ostegar in DAO.

I don't think anyone who watches the stream on Monday should discuss it in this thread at all, with or without spoiler tags. EP has already said numerous times that there should be no spoiler discussion. There will be a thread created to talk about it specifically, I'm sure.

 

I'm all for protecting the DAI virgins who frequent this thread from any spoiler deflowering before release.
