I recommend using the Grandfather approach depicted at the end of ME3, and explain that it is a fantasy tale told to others about the salvation or doom of the land known as Thedas. During a major peace conference held at a local religious site, an explosion occurred; killing all but one, and tearing the fabric between reality, and that belonging to spirits and demons. And in that lovely voice, explain that the Player gets to pretend their the sole survivor; the only one that may be able to repair the rip in space.

Kinda wish I could overhear this one.... :)

They mistook Thedas with Tevinter.  Filthy casuals!

Japan uses predominantly consoles (Random fun fact) So, as i'm not exactly knowledgeable about VPN, i wouldn't think they could use it to play via their consoles. They have a severe dislike towards computers unless its for work-type purposes or internet browsing (There are people who use it for gaming, but generally that's for MMO type deals.)

Of course, again, i know jack all about VPN stuff, so, XD

Why are the japanese opposed to PC gaming? Seems ironic because they are a rich and industrialized country with heavy gaming culture. Yet... playing on the ultimate gaming platform isnt popular? Is it because the middle-class dont have enough money for proper PCs? Is it because they would rather support Sony?

Have you heard SquareEnix say that FF15 will be the deciding factor of whether or not home consoles will be a thing in Japan anymore?  They love portable systems (i.e.: 3Ds, Vita, etc.).  Since they're always on the go for work and stuff, they don't have the time for home systems and the computer would be in that category.

PC is definitely getting hotter in Japan. It's something that, as a console gamer, frankly kind of worries me. Consoles are on the down-and-out there more than anywhere else out of the major regions, really.

He probably does, but as I've never adopted the modern net's interest in individual net personalities (I'm a dinosaur, I know; I just don't do much with the internet outside of academic research anymore is all) I actually never heard of him until very recently. I'd imagine anyone else like me hasn't either. He seems kinda cool though.

By big guys he probably means professional review sites. Angry Joe has a lot of fans, but at the end of the day he's "just" a Youtube guy.

Yup, and it's not the same typical review we've already seen a thousand times.

If this review is even half right I am going to go through agonies every time I have to make a major decision. Great!

Because they've just worked for 4 years on something and the majority of people whose job it is to review games have said that they liked it, or even loved it?

There's been a clear 'something to prove' after DA2 and ME3, so after many years of effort in the face of crappy jibes and internet bile,

to see the great reviews rolling in must be a huge sense of vindication and a huge relief.

I was watching this thread 14 hours ago seeing the devs nervously tweeting about getting some sleep -

and then the reviews started positively clicking in ... I admit to failing to maintain a dry eye myself...

As an answer, basically just look at N7KnightSabre's reply. It's not exactly that they don't have money or want to support sony/nintendo or anything. But Consoles are easy to use, buy it, set up an account, done. Play when needed. Same for hand-helds. Especially hand-helds.

Either way, point of the matter: People who game on their PCs there are mostly doing it for MMOs, for example, Phantasy Star Online 2, Not much else. Like, they have the ability to use Steam in Japan, but compared to other countries, their selection is like 1/4 of.. say.. NA's games. Not cause a lot of the games are not subtitled or ect, for Japanese, but cause most gamers in Japan don't use steam.

But i've really gone off-topic, so.. i'll stop here.

Appreciating the kind words about Dragon Age: Inquisition and remembering those who sacrificed so we could make it. #LestWeForget

Just for a second, before recognising the important sentiment in that that tweet, I misread it as well...

I was imagining the bodies of dead developers in BioWare's basement who didn't make it through crunch...

I only hope the reception stays positive this time around. I wasn't a Dragon Age fan yet when DA2 dropped, but when ME3 hit, we were all so happy for the developers as the reviews started surfacing. Then the reception of the game fell apart. I was one of the few who knew the ending before the game came out, and I'm sure that'll forever alter my perception of things beyond the norm, but even still, I love that game to this day, especially as of June 2012. So I mean, I want Inquisition to actually stay above water by the majority this time. It was really saddening, watching the opinions on Mass Effect 3 spiral far from my own after a really happy start.
