David Silverman? He was kicked upstairs to do PR for DICE. He most likely fits much better there =) I mean he wasn't bad, he just seemed a bit out of place.Reznore57 wrote...
Well maybe they will have a PR guy for DA3?
Like The Awesome Button guy , can't remember his name...I think it was somebody from EA but not sure.

For Mass Effect 3 in 2011 it appeared at two separate conferences, Microsoft's and EA's, (and took up about ten minutes of EA's one) and had Casey Hudson plus the Doctors there to show it off. It looks like both Mike and Mark are staying back in Edmonton to work on the game (yay) but I am wondering who'll end up presenting it.

Given the number of very cool people who have asked if I could meet/lunch/drink with them, I feel maybe I should have gone to E3. Ah well!
Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw
Instead of E3, I shall work on dragons, and the ageing thereof.

The level of detail our animators are putting into upcoming DA assets is incredible. I'm listening to them argue about eyelash details.

Electronic Arts @EA
@[user] For sure - tune in to our E3 preview event on 6/6 at 1pm PT on Spike TV or http://www.ea.com/e3 for DAIII news.
Though, looking at the rest of the tweets it seems like the person was replying to heaps of people, so it's probably a typo.

Saying David Silverman was "out of place" is sugar coating it to the point where I think your post may have given me diabites.
But I guess I slightly agree with you. His Dragon Age PR wasn't "bad", it was god-awful. Downright terrible. Nothing against the man as a person, but that "button, awesome, button, awesome!" thing should be a crime against humanity. I've viewed that clip only once, and will never do it again for fear of my I.Q. mimicking a mudslide.

However, a few days difference doesn't really matter at this point. If they are having a preview, then they need to get their dates right.
So, no Mike, Mark or Chris at E3 proper. Okay. I guess it's not gonna be much going on there that's DA3 related, after all?

Alistair McNally's tweet is interesting, makes me wonder if maybe we'll be shown something more than what we originally thought.

Well, I don't know about that. Originally what everyone on the dev team was saying was that the reveal will be very substantive and will leave no room for doubt. Mike Laidlaw specifically said that it won't just be a trailer and a short description of story and mechanics. At this point I'm barely expecting that much.
All we've heard is "show, not tell." "We want to explain everything when we reveal the game." "We don't want to leave anyone guessing." Etc. Maybe E3 is just the pinprick in the ******, but that's not what they've been telling us.

That reminds me, didn't they say a few months ago that we'd get information on the game long before we'd see a trailer from them?

Don't know about that, but they definitely said the reveal would be substantive and substantial and that it specifically would not just be an action trailer with a brief description.

Yeah, I remember those quotes. Hopefully the absence of Mike and Mark doesn't change this attitude. A trailer and some screenshots would leave me with a "meh" I think.
But everything will be better than having D.Silverman again as the marketing guy. I never ever despised a PR person like I did him. "What are you presenting? Ah, an RPG. It sounded like a hack&slash with explosions, gore and exaggerated things all over the place" Good thing that man was moved to a department more of his kind.

Let's hope that's what we'll get then.
I'd at least like to see some in-game footage, not just screenshots and cut scenes.

I believe that the "info on game long before a trailer" was in relation to a CGI trailer.

They make trailers from in-game footage too? (I wasn't around for any previous reveals, so I dunno how these things work).

I'm not going as E3 isn't really a Community show (unlike a PAX or Gamescom for example). It is much more for studio, marketing & PR. Jessica IS going, but only because she lives in LA. I think it is Aaryn Flynn (Studio GM) going to E3 to reveal... our stuff.
okay. okay. that's cool. i like aaryn flynn, and i would say he classifies as a "big papa".
