I think the game deserves the win. Most of the other games I've played this year just weren't that memorable to me. Destiny felt lifeless, Shadow of Mordor was fun initially, but gets repetitive fast. Divinity was a really great rpg for combat, but the rest of the game was fairly mediocre. Unity and Far Cry 4 couldn't keep my attention for more than a few hours, it's just the same stuff they had in the previous games. 

 

DAI has some flaws, but it's really the only game I looked forward to continue playing while I played it. Besides Divinity, I haven't even finished the others.

Let this be a happy lesson for Bioware: 3 years = good game and happy fans.

C'mon admit it. All of us still being grumpy about Bioware is because we can't forgive them for DA2 or Mass Effect 3's ending.

Yeah, I'm also in the "not grumpy" camp.

ME3 was a superb game even if the ending was rushed. I still prefer aspects of DA2 to DA:O

Are you a straight man? All the straight men seem to hate Cullen. It's like a requirement for them.

I am and I don't hate him. He was my friend on my first playthrough. Sometimes all the craziness for him seemed a bit weird, but then I think about Morrigan and I figure out that I have my own craziness too...

 

Anyway, I'm the only one with the impression that Morrigan's boobs were smaller than in Origins? hahaha That's not a problem for me, but with new technology and everything, I didn't think that could happen (didn't get the same impression with Leliana, for example)... She is still my "pixel love".

 

And congrats for Bioware and everyone involved in Dragon Age: Inquisition. It's been months since I'm telling my friends it would be The Game of The Year. Still have some bugs, but it's a normal things these days (at least they can fix it now, instead of pretending it's a secret feature like the old days, haha).

Winning a single GOTY award doesn't make it the (indisputable) game of the year. You need about 60 to 80 GOTY awards for that title. ^^

It is quite amusing that the DA:I Defence Force hasn't figured out that there are numerous GOTY awards, so winning a single award doesn't make this drivel game of the year. But believe what you want if it makes you feel nice.

I don't get this. I mean I've never posted before, and I know that this thread isn't the best place for it, but I don't understand why people try to take away from the things anyone else enjoys about a game. Yeah there's issues, but that doesn't mean people can't consider it awesome. 

People should enjoy DA:I all they want if they think it is good. A single GOTY award doesn't make DA:I game of the year, I have no idea why people are getting so offended when this is mentioned.

@r1ck182, Morrigan was always supposed to be much more slight than how she appeared in DA:O. In fact, her appearance notes in DA:O's toolset say "Her body is relatively thin and not strong,"  and her concept art reflected that. Her proportions in that game were the result of limitations presented by the way they built their character models at the time. Male and female characters had the same animation rig and NPC's, especially companions, used the same armor/clothing/base assets that the player characters did. This led to everyone having the same proportions, to the point that female characters had unusually manly shoulder spans (necessary to fit the singular skeleton). DA2 and DA:I have gender-exclusive animation rigs, and companions and other NPC's use their own specific model assets, which allows them to all look unique and match their design concepts more closely.

 

In short, DA:O Morrigan is inaccurate, DA:I Morrigan is how she's supposed to look.
