Will the patch be save-compatible? I am honestly not looking forward to the prospect of a restart especially since I have not finished the first play-through and so I have a bit of an investment going.

Phew! I am cool with some changes only taking effect in my next game but 53 hours in and I kind of feel obligated to finish what I've started

I don't think they'll break the save, they just may not fix existing issues.

That was the case for the recent GTA San Andreas patch. It removed a lot of the songs, re-introduced bugs that had been patched out before, and made players' save files incompatible.

Kinda sounds like Skyrim's backward-flying-dragon 'patch'.
Although, if DAI's dragons randomly started flying backward I think I would die of laughter.

That would be nice but something tells me that any changes to the controls and gameplay comes later on. This patch should address, first and foremost, any performance issues. Like honestly sometimes this thing loads fast and other times I could literally go make a cup of coffee before a region loads.

personally i think SP needs sprint like MP has, right now the Inquisitor runs slower than i walk, its extremely annoying

Yeah. For console you click the left control stick. Instead of searching the area it sprints.
