Look, I had no idea people were sensitive to the idea that body type matching the character was a key component to a successful approximation of said character.

I certainly don't want to derail the thread anymore,and I heartily apologize to any I offended.

Part of the reason it's offensive is it has been used as a reason to mock individuals expressing their love for a character simply because their bodies aren't "perfect" and to keep pocs from cosplaying as a vast majority of characters tend to be white, unfortunately.

But if you actually read the post, she was in no way condoning or promoting that. She simply said that to get the cosplay to convey the closest representation it would be ideal to be as similar to the character you are trying to portray. Nowhere did she say that no one could cosplay if they were short, or of another color, only that it wouldn't be an exact representation of said character. People are making way too big a deal out of this. I'm offended that you apologized because people took your words out of context. That is getting to be pretty old pretty fast around the world.

 

OT: Speaking of Bioware Base, wasn't there a Cullen video that was supposed to be released with Greg Ellis? What ever happened to that? I remember him tweeting about it.

The Greg Ellis video apparently encountered some complications and was thrown out. I'm not really sure what could have happened, but they said it was not salvageable.

There was a heavy metal band recording songs for their album in the booth next door. They were unable to edit out the wall vibrations or something.

One of my favorite charities had a fund-raiser where, if you pledged $300, you could get a celebrity to record your voice mail message. I really thought about paying $300 to get Vin Scully to record mine; but alas, it sold out in less than a day.

At any rate, it would be totally awesome (albeit probably unrealistic) if Bioware and the VAs could do something like that for charity. I don't think I'd pay $300, but I'd consider paying $100 to get Miranda Raison or Indira Varma.

I understand VA rates are about $100 per minute or $1,000 for a 45 minutes session.

Consider how much dialogue there is in DA.

Oh ffs, it was a joke.  I don't feel any disgust for that thread only a mild dislike for the character being discussed there. I figured a tweet for the Cullenites would be best placed in a thread for the Cullenites, so I ducked my head in for one post so those in the thread would see it and back out I went. BioWare was scheduled to have an Art of Dragon Age QA and panel after the DAMP panel but no tweets on anything since this morning.
