If company A has discovered a way to get consumer B to give them money with their own free will, why shouldn't company A continue doing business as such? If it works?
If you found a way to have Morgan Freeman or something come to your house and give you money, why would you be like "no, no, no. It wouldn't be right." No. Take their ****** money!
That's just good business sense.
Consoles gotta compete. They are trying to have the most to offer potential buyers.
Anyway, I'm fairly certain most at Bioware have little say in what EA decides to do with those particular decisions.

Yes. Always remember they just want your money. This timed-exclusivity garbage makes it so abundantly clear that even a dummy like me finally gets it.

I don't see why anyone would be mad that anyone wants more money. I want more money. I'm sure EA wants more money. Microsoft wants more too.

The point is that it's extremely consumer unfriendly and ethically grey. Let's say you have to choose between two electric companies but one won't allow you to use kitchen appliances for a month and the other won't allow you to use fridges/freezers. Would you say nah. It's just business. While it may be good financial sense it's bad ethics and very bad goodwill marketing.
The whole idea of exclusives are bad, I only excuse them when they are completely funded by Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo. Such as Bayonetta 2, Last of Us etc.

No it's not grey. You must be a PS4 owner, and pulling at the straws to try to make sense, which you clearly don't.The point is that it's extremely consumer unfriendly and ethically grey. 1) Electric company forbidding you to not use an appliance is a dumb analogy. Which does nothing to further punctuate your point.
2) This is gaming business. And as the poster you quoted iterated its good for business which I agree with. The Devs have bills to pay too.
This is entertainment, not something that your life depends on. Relax and get out more. You just seem upset.

Me too. That and the EA Access week before release.Knowing the DA:I DLC would be an Xbone timed exclusive was the reason I bought an Xbone.
My ca orate game having exclusive. On a Xbox made me chose the xbox.

No, I really could not care either way my money stays in my pocket for that bit longer.
I'm looking at it from a marketing perspective, EA is damaging the relationship with it's PS4, PS3 and xbox 360 which means you have customers for example like Dragonracer who harms her willingness to buy.
Goodwill is important otherwise you have severe PR issues like EA currently has. Origin is more consumer friendly than Steam but people don't see it that way because EA is known as a devil. Timed-exclusivity deals are financial sense, I know that. Consumer unfriendly yes, therefore it can be unethical.

The customers must absolutely hate Bethesda then since they accept every deal Microsoft makes with them, yet they still keep selling game after game after game

Bethesda doesn't have serious PR issues like EA. Again, EA is seen as the bane of the gaming industry.

I think you're overstating the reputational effect given its a common practice across the industry with both MS and Sony.

Just finished it. Took about 5-6 hours (not super completionist) could be rushed in 2-3 if you knew where everything was.
Ending was pretty good, definitely a decent DLC. Though the price maybe a bit high. Some really good funny bits. Nice new items and materials.
Will do up a proper review video soon.

What's also weird about Jaws of Hakkon is that they revealed it like ten hours before it came out and don't seem to have sent any review copies to media sites.

Spoiler-free:
Just wandering around the starting area, it's very pretty.
Obtusely, I'm now going to avoid reviews and even the trailer.
My current play-through had just completed Crestwood, so the Frostback Basin is now added to my available areas alongside Emprise de Lion, Hissing Wastes, Western Approach, etc.
I'll pick off quests in the different areas as I go, so I'll nibble at the new content over several weeks, rather than gorging myself in one session ![]()
(not that there is anything wrong with gorging, but as I'm free to come and go from the new area (it seems), why not? In any case, there's a mosaic to complete!)
And I'm going to avoid the Spoiler section of the forum like the plague for a while... ![]()

I didn't hear many PS3/now PS4 players complaining when Sony did the same thing with the Batman series. Suck it up and accept corps will be corps and you'll eventually get it in time. If you still feel strongly about it, then make a statement where it hurts most - with your wallet. We all knew this was gonna be the case because MS, EA and BioWare were pretty open that this was happening before the game was even released.

Kenneth A.F Topp @DuncanOToole
· Mar 20@Mike_Laidlaw Love DA:I but it occurred to me, I dislike what you did you accessories and attributes in this game. Cont.
Kenneth A.F Topp @DuncanOToole · Mar 20@Mike_Laidlaw Cont Pt.2 instead of having Rings and belts integrated into the world of Thedas, it is more a gameplay abstract.@Mike_Laidlaw Cont pt. 3 and I find that disappointing, it gives a great flavour to the world when you found rings or belts with a history..
@Mike_Laidlaw Cont Last part: instead of merely Great belt of Magical defense. Attributes, should not be removed either, but rather matter.
Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw Mar 20
@DuncanOToole Fair enough. Writing histories for every magical item in the game, however, becomes prohibitively expensive.
@Mike_Laidlaw I can understand that, but rpgs are all about the world. Still a great game though.
Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw Mar 20
@DuncanOToole My preference is to invest that writing/translation into codes entries, which are not blocked behind looting.
