Then maybe it'll have to do about Tevinter?

Considering how Fenris can die at the end of DA2, I was thinking it might be from during his time as a slave in Tevinter, and if we go there next game, it makes sense that there might be hints about the plot of the next game.

Fenris can be one of the many characters that don't actually die if you 'kill' them. Had to fight him at the end of the DA2? The lyrium in his skin magically fixes his deadly wounds. Etcetcetc
But yeah it could be a flashback.

Eh, Alistair can also die and he's got that whole comic book series. It could just be a "in the continuity of the novels, Fenris is alive after DA2" thing rather than a prequel or resurrection.
But yeah, excited for a new book, whatever it ends up being about!

Heheheeeee, my prediction is falling into place.
There's an even better place than Tevinter for a game based on the Tevinter/Qunari war (which I am hoping DA4 will be): Seheron. Two major factions in play with plenty of combat, subterfuge, and power struggles. There's even a way to prevent slotting the PC into one of the two factions automatically, as you could start off as a fledging Fog Warrior that will eventually help decide on a Tevinter/Qunari/native-led Seheron.
Fenris, you say?
During Questioning Beliefs, Hawke learns that Fenris has obtained considerable knowledge of Qunari culture and practices; a result of him being left behind by his master after a battle between the Tevinter mages and the Qunari on Seheron. His injuries were treated by Fog Warriors and he spent several months living with them before Danarius returned to retrieve Fenris. The Fog Warriors refused to give him up, and Danarius was injured in the subsequent battle. Danarius ordered Fenris to kill the Fog Warriors who had defended him, which he did. He indicates regret at doing so, but apparently still had a lingering propensity to do as commanded upon the return of his master. It was this event that caused Fenris to leave his master, taking advantage of the delay in pursuit that Danarius's injuries offered.

Fenris is dead in my game. I hope this isn't what was meant when Patrick said they were going to mess with our head cannon.

I'm not gonna get riled up about rumors, as it's probably just MP and I still haven't played it because people are mean.
Not holding my breath either. If it's for MP or JoH just getting a release date for other platforms then meh.

Fenris isn't dead in the coming book, much like Wynne is not dead in Asunder should your personal canon involve you killing her in DAO.
It doesn't imply that your story is "less worthy". There just needs to be a consistent setting for the book.

Yeah, Bioware has a set canon for the tie-ins, just as a logistical thing.

The DA comics and books regularly feature stories that might not necessarily happen in the worldstate of your game. If Fenris appears in a new book, treat it as a story rather than something that actually happens.
David writes them as alternate universes and what-if scenarios, because it's much easier if he can use his version of the DA setting rather than trying to account for all of ours.

Ok, I can never keep these things straight. What's Blair Brown do, again? Says "producer" on the front page, but what's that translate to being involved with, exactly?
Maybe they'll just be talking about WoT 2 coming out. *pushes hopes down*
