I'm on the xbox one, and I've downloaded the 3gb update, but I don't notice anything new (besides the two new Thrones). Checked the war table and can't spot anything, either.

You might have to search specifically for it by typing it out. And then again it could be dependent on your timezone.

Why would there be? It's a shop.

I was expecting at least what I got with BE in da2. That was full of funny things and codex entries none of us got. I mean yeah, great, we can change our appearance. I expected at least the urchin and maybe the chest with free items like last time.

I would still suggest that the Black Emporium for DA2 was first-sale DLC, whereas it is simply free for Inquisition. So it does make sense that it wouldn't be as extensive, even if it is a disappointment.

I'm fairly certain I did not pay for the Emporium in DA2, but I could be wrong.

I am glad it is free. I'm sure I don't know the first thing about what goes into making games, but my impression was that people wanted to change their appearance, and the BE is a "location" to do so, while giving players access to shops that they could buy hard to find materials and schematics.

But the difference is that last time around, thought was put into the area itself, making it it's own character in a way. There was a chest with random junk in it, the mirror, books you could read, scrolls, just a treasure of information lore junkies could dissect. But my first thought this time around was confusion. I kept jumping up trying to go up to higher levels to get the rest of the codex entries.

Maybe I didn't see it all, I don't know, but I'm a pretty outspoken Bioware Fangirl and I'm just a little disappointed.

It was a pre-order deluxe edition thing for DA2 if I recall right. At first anyway, everyone got it eventually. But I'm sure the normal games didn't come with it since I had the deluxe edition (pre-ordered) and got the BE while my brother got a normal copy of the game and he didn't get BE.

It was first-sale DLC, meaning that it was free only for people who purchased a new copy of the game (basically an online pass).

Used copies required that it be purchased separately.

I think it's fine to be disappointed that it doesn't have more vanity codex entries or characters (though Urchin and Thaddeus didn't actually do anything—Xenon just said some stuff when you clicked on them). It would have been nice if they had put more into the window dressing, but I can't fault them too much for keeping it simple (it is just some free extras for a game that's already half a year old, after all).

You're probably thinking of Sebastian. He was only included in the signature edition, but all new copies of the game came with a code for the Black Emporium.
