I went in with 50000 gold, and came out with 200. It goes FAST.

Good. The game needed another gold dump. It should make gold accumulation throughout the mid-game much more difficult to maintain and make the monetary system more relevant.

It does break some of the other game systems though, for instance crafting materials are now basically all purchasable from the BE and there's not a huge need to use the war table operations or go out to kill stuff. Except, I think, to find Fade-touched materials.

But at this point I think it's mostly a way to let players have absolute control over the customisation and appearance/stats of their character in preparation for new DLC, and that's a pretty good thing.

Does BE start when you get Skyhold? Or does it start once you get Haven? I may do a Inquisitor and Herald run through and I feel BE would help in getting those trophies.

I think someone on Twitter confirmed you can get it before Skyhold.

Yes, you can access the BE from Haven as well...

I'm hoping in the next major patch they'll incorporate some new ways to spend Power. I know a while back they mentioned they were investigating this...

The first solution that comes to mind is to reduce the amount you get from quests and increasing power costs across the board.

The issue with that is that it may encourage people to go out and explore and play the game as intended... o wait... some people don't want to do that.

In any case, another less intrusive solution is to provide war table quests that consume power and provide rewards in return.

One quest could be a "schematic" retrieval quest which provides you with a random schematic on completion. Perhaps the cost can be increased and the schematic become a choice rather than random.

A similar repeatable quest could involve agents retrieving certain "rare" items for you with a chance to receive a legendary item.

Another could be companion relationship increase or decrease war table quest. It could serve as an optional method to play around the relationship system. I don't exactly approve of it myself because it would trivialize relationship building, but it's an option like Feastday items. No cake tho.

Personally I'd adore trading Power for Fade-touched crafting items. Those mats really add another dimension to combat, like letting mages wear heavy armor or letting rogues generate guard.

I'll probably end up making a thread on this, but I hope they do away with approval entirely for DA4. They are already focused on making companion interaction less gamey, and I couldn't think of a better way than basing your companion's attitude towards you entirely on your actions in a more binary system. This would generate the additional (worthwhile) benefit of making it much harder for everyone to like you, and letting more players see the companion scenes where they don't like you.

Mages can wear Heavy armor even if it's not a fade-touched crafting item. Just use Silverite to eliminate the class requirement.

...God dammit. I don't know how I missed this. I always thought it was the Fade-touched benefit, and since I never got a Fade-touched Silverite I never learned otherwise.

You can go there prior to going to haven for the first time. You have to unlock haven as a location, but after that you can go

Speaking of the war table, how about charging say 100 power to get the hole in the wall of the corridor leading to it. At first playthrough it seemed quite quaint. Now it's just an annoyance.

So true :P

I expected them to leave it til a DLC expansion of Skyhold. They still might.

Does this mean that Bioware is going to release a modding tool that allows as to import new meshes and textures in game?  :)

Very recently Mike (or Mark) noted that they were working on finding new power sinks (it was first mentioned shortly after release).

The Black Emporium could have at least cost 1 power. It would have been a start. :)

Doubtful but I suppose we can keep dreaming/hoping. I believe they’ve done videos in the past detailing how they made certain assets for the game or at least the processes they use, they’re probably just trying to remove some of the mystery behind how they actually make their games.

Props to the #DAMP team. Announcing the existence of Zither on April Fools was Machiavellian.

sebastianhanlon @hanlsp

I was in the meeting where that idea was hatched; when I took the idea to @blairkerrbrown he jumped up and down like a kid.
