Varric's face is also banged up (the only two companions who not coincidentally have fresh injuries to their face).Except she was with Varric, I believe; not at the Temple.
What you've said is simply the reason she's not dead.

If the explosion had been the cause of the scar, in the prologue, it would not have been a scar at all but a huge bleeding gash across her face.
Obviously.

Hey, coworkers, I was just kidding. I feel great now. Totally better. Now come on, team-building exercise where we sneeze on each other!
@PatrickWeekes If I come back to find you and @Sylvf1 both died of plague and left me to do codexes, I will be SLIGHTLY ANNOYED.
Patrick Weekes @PatrickWeekes
Have I ever needed a convoluted plot to dump the codexes on you?
I'm so ready to hear some concrete details about the new IP!

I'd be perfectly content for a while if I just had a name, but I doubt that day will come anytime soon.
Yeah, I'm really, really intrigued by the possible release schedule (as tremendously tentative as portions of it no doubt are at current) over the next few years. I think we're looking at ME4->New IP->DA4, but those are very broad terms. It's just a really interesting time to be a fan, I think.
If the new IP manages to interest me (and if it's primarily a single-player, story-driven game and it isn't about baby unicorn zombie vampires and their regurgitation cycles, it should indeed interest me) there's going to be a lot of highly different BioWare entertainment en route for me between, say, 2016 and 2018 or so. Hypothetically speaking.
Even if, in a gut-wrenching revelation, the new IP turns out to be something I've no interest in, like an MMO or some other multiplayer-focused affair, I'll still have two great franchises to squeak about going forward.
I've been thinking they're setting it up to have a game come out once a year.
While it does seem logical for the release schedule to go ME4, New IP, DA4 I’m skeptical to say the least. If they’re still recruiting writers then it sounds like they’re still in very early dev/concepting if not pre-dev, which they’ll probably be in for the best part of a year or more. Also it doesn’t sound like they have a very big dev team working on it at this moment, it’s all hands on deck for ME4 and since we still don’t have a release date for that or even an official announcement a rough estimated release date of 2017 for the new IP seems a little too soon. Unless of course Bioware recruit a lot more people or set up some new studios dedicated to certain IP’s.

They have the benefit of no expectations on the new IP
so it wouldn't surprise me in the least to hear nothing for 2 years, or even 3.
I still reckon something like:
Why DA before New IP?
Because with all the work done on Frostbite 3, I suspect much of the 'engine room' work is done and DA4 will build on DAI.
As for the New IP, David Gaider and Cameron only recently moved over, and new origination can take longer, eg with DAO.

- Fall 2015 - ME Trilogy Remastered
- Fall 2016 - ME:N

Autumn 2016 for ME:N? Why does DAI take 3.5 years working on a brand new, never before used engine and ME:N take 4.5 even though they have a lot of previous experience to build on? DAI also got a year's extension + another delay.
Really hoping we don't have to wait that long.

E3 will tell (or not).
Still convinced Frostbite 3 was a significant hurdle, and that takes time...

A lot of the engine groundwork has been done thanks to Inquisition. Such as textures, creating mounts, etc. So the development cycle may not take as long, or the game may be more polished. I'm hoping.
More stuff to blame on me: Duke Prosper & Leopold #DA2MarkOfTheAssassin; Corypheus #DA2Legacy (Who made you curse all forms of pathfinding.)
You could blame @joshstiksma…or thank him!
I did both.
Just want to say Patrick Weekes response to this was hilarious

@davidgaider We cometh that ye may notte.
Ooh, several layers of hilarity in this one for those who've studied Early Modern English.
Edit: Well, at least two.
And this rendition of Dorian's nightmare! So perfect! http://tiny-tyke.deviantart.com/art/DA-Inquisition-Nightmare-522480279 …

Agents, the Victory Chest will be up shortly. We're doing some science. Will update once it's up :-D
Things I watched while working on DA:I that influenced my style - Buffy, Angel, Supernatural, Burn Notice, X-Files, others that I forget.
