No. Combat speed is a central part of any design and changes to it would be borderline impossible.

To briefly return to the subject of pure hypotheticals that is "upcoming BioWare release dates", I see good argument on both sides of the camp re: DA4 and the new IP. We know so little (read: zilch) about the latter, except that it's drafted some more vets recently and that Casey Hudson claims the foundation for it was established prior to his departure. Of course, that could mean ten different things. Speculation for everybody, as they say.

ME4 is a Holiday 2016 release that could turn into an early 2017 one instead, IMO, although 1.) we'll have a better idea how true that prediction is in a month, I hope (it could indeed be Spring 2016 as some have guessed; I'm just very doubtful) and 2.) there's every chance EA will not budge on a potential Holiday 2016 marker, given the sales estimates they may hold for such a line. Oh, and 3.) we could also all be grasping in the dark without realizing that EA has no set schedule for it either.

Things get murkier from there. As either Mike Laidlaw or Mark Darrah said in March's Kotaku Q&A -- I think, maybe it was someone else, elsewhere, but gods be good, I know someone relevant said it -- with Frostbite effectively tackled and reined in, things will be a lot smoother going forward. But in the absence of cold hard data, any given fandom relishes in the opportunity to predict. What do we really know about such a phrase, however? It's further fuel for the speculatory fires, but we shouldn't allow those flames to fuel such pinpoint statements as, "well then I don't see why ME4 can't be mine in Spring 2016, with DA4 a year later." These are gargantuan projects, all of them. The assets are there now. The know-how is there now. But any number of expansive new gameplay systems, emphases on new ideas, challenging setbacks, corporate mandates, and all sorts of other unforeseens could push anything back beyond the realm of our highly limited grasps.

DA4 could be a Holiday 2017 hit, followed by the new IP in Holiday 2018. Or the new IP is an early 2017 project. Or DA4 is coming less than three years ahead of Inquisition. Or or or. I'm going with late '16 for ME4, then interchangeably depending on company progress, DA4 and ??? taking up 2017/18 slots, with a slim possibility of them both hitting shelves the same year. (Not a terrible plan for investors, either, IMO; new IP is an untested entity, whereas DAI has proven Dragon Age is still financially viable despite the DA2 debacle.) That's my final answer, and in a perfect world E3 will come along and give us a firmer idea of things to come, although we sure as hell won't hear about DA4 for a while, at least.

So that wasn't so brief after all. And it was wholly unrelated to twitter, too, and so I imagine I might have upset a few people. You have my apologies, then, as well as this random picture of Josephine. Because nothing says "diplomatic appeal" like a picture of Josephine.
