I know you can't say y/n but it would be great to help the H.O.F. with solving the problem of the calling.
I've already said that the Hero of Ferelden will not be appearing. Sorry!

well there's always next game for that. #keepinghopealive
I wouldn't work too hard on that particular hope. I do not feel the HOF would work well as an NPC.

I agree. The game taking control of players own characters never works out well. They did that little experiment already. I don't believe the results were that spectacular. That and their's the possibility that the HOF being dead in a few world states.User

Wouldn't surprise me if rocks start falling on the HOF's head to settle the matter completely.
Origins is still one of my all time favorite games so I don't say that as a hater.

I think they said things like "oh that'd be very difficult". This was a bit more firmer. Regardless it's sad I probably won't see my warden again, but it's understandable.

Exactly. It's the same for all excluded countries; this has nothing to do with geography, just legislation.
Not all of them. There is a lot of this kind of games here in Brazil, but I bet it's because of taxes. If you sent me an gift from abroad, I'm sure the government would make me pay for it in some way.
3 years ago some guy won a Latin Grammy award and the Latin Academy had to pay taxes to sent his trophy to his home. It's very embarassing.

Or we could just all agree that Dragon Age: Origins Remastered is something that would be AWESOMEEEE

Maybe. I think the idea of it is better than the practical reality.
On the one hand seeing areas such the Brecilian forest and Denerim, the deep roads/Orzamar re-done in the FB engine would be awesome. And on the hand... lots of stuff deleted.
It's a pity they aren't able to release a toolkit at this time, or possible ever.
I know a toolkit is coming for the Witcher 3 game, but that game doesn't have companions so still can't win in terms of re-doing Origins in a newer engine, even as a mod.

"Ghast" is too harsh a name for them. They're ghoulies, and they're awesome, and they need to show up again.

I ... really should stay away from this thread that crushes hopes as easily as raising them. Well played!

Nah, don't lose hope!
You know, remaster is "just" polishing the game to the new gen, that's pretty possible for both Mass Effect and Dragon Age.
Run Dragon Age: Origins in Frostbite3 would be a remake. I would love it, but sadly I don't see that happening anytime.

But come on a major character as well as an importent quest, some resolution is in order maybe not a PHYSICAL appearance BUT SURE AS HELL NOT a codex one.

It's a problem they're possibly going to run into again with the inquisitor unless they just decide the inquisitor is our character now.
If we have a new hero in DA4 - it's going to repeat again: what's the inquisitor doing, can we play as the inquisitor again etc,

Its better this way. I like my Warden more than my Inquisitor. Don't get me wrong, Inquisition is an amazing game but my Warden is larger than life. I could definitely see a conflict of authority if both appear in the same game or if stuff like this starts to happen in the subsequent games as each will have a different protagonist.

The problem is that the HoF isn't much of a character at all. She is merely an agent and a conduit which allows the presence of the player in the game. She is voiceless, and therefore toneless, and almost any emotional resonance left by what she says or does really takes place in the mind of the player, so any consistency of the Warden's character is just in the player's mind. This is not just a result of the non-existing voice, a complement to that absence is the expression of the warden - her face is kept meticulously bland and devoid of any emotion (some would say animation) throughout the game, this might be a result of technical problems with the engine, but it certainly fits in with the absence of voice. While this creates (by default) greater identification of the player with the Warden, it makes any reflective representation of her as a "real" character - id est, one which is independent of the player - virtually impossible. No matter how she is portrayed, she could never fit what players have in mind. And that is because void created by her absence of personality, is filled with whatever personality the player creates for her mentally.
That is why many players feel a deeper emotional connection to the HoF than they do to Hawke. Hawke has a basic personality of her own. Three of them, in fact, for the players to choose from as it suits them, but whatever personality is chosen, it is still distinct from that of the player's. The inquisitor was an attempt to find some happy middle between the two options - the Warden and Hawke. Which is why her (the inquisitor's) personality was less distinct than Hawke's (Something achieved by the generally pleasant and relatively neutral tone the inquisitor takes most of the time), but has more presence than that of the Warden's. The HoF's personality is in fact weaker than the Inquisitor's, but because the player's own manufactured personality fills it, it can be as powerful and dominant as the player wants it to be (or not).

But with the inquisiter they have the option to close down the story and tie it down right now, no loose ends. That way you can say the inquisiter story is over, but regarding the blunder in The ending of DA2 and DAI hawkes as well as the warden are still a loose end that isnt dealt with and pretty much open. It's a problem they're possibly going to run into again with the inquisitor unless they just decide the inquisitor is our character now.

I agree what mike says that NPC is not possible, but as PC that is possible. But you should never say never, MUCH can change in a few years time, and bioware knows that the warden is importent to us.

I seem to remember that they did say in the Kotaku Q&A session a while back that they liked how GTA V allowed you to switch between multiple protagonists and it was something they would like to look in to in future games. Could be a way for them to sort things out with the warden once and for all so they don’t have to repeat themselves every few months saying ‘the wardens story is over’ and satisfy all the people wanting to play as their warden one last time.
