Apparently that's just the first arcIf it's gonna be about the "Rise" of the Venatori, why on earth didn't they do it BEFORE Inquisition came out?! Would have made Venatori much cooler instead of "oh, hey, here's this cult you've never heard of, be concerned!"

I agree, it is pretty weak.
But in terms of setting stuff up for DAI, you have to admit there was a lot of media about it. Just not for the Venatori themselves.
Only the first arc of the comic will be pre/during(?) DAI, then it'll probably act as more of a story bridge to the next game (more and more likely to be in/involving Tevinter).

Well, sounds like they won't be letting the older gen hardware hold them back in the future DLC.
Also, I find it immensely sad (though unsurprising) that they have to show fine print clarifying one needs to actually buy a PS4 or XBox One version of the game as well as that actual console in order to upgrade from an old system to a new system.

Yeeeahhhh... Part of me is glad they're just going to go all out... The other part of me is wondering if I'll be needing to get a PS4 a few months earlier than I planned. Eep. I'm extremely grateful for the ability to migrate saves between systems though, I didn't even think that would be possible. And I'd love to see my Inquisitors in the upgraded version. (And MP migration too!)

You might not need to buy it again for the Xbox One since Microsoft has made it backwards compatible (that is, if DAI is in their catalog of games that they made available or will be in the near future). For PS4, yeah, you'll need to buy it again.

I hope she remains in the DA team, but I'm sure she'll do a great job nonetheless ![]()

Not cool on Bioware's part.
It could be down to the amount of copies sold on last gen of the JoH dlc. I can imagine there is a lot of work making sure that the dlc works well on a last gen console. If they are not selling enough units then it's unfeasible for them to continue selling on those platforms.

Doesn't change the fact it is not cool on Bioware's part to throw some fans under the bus like that.

No it's not. If I was on last gen I wouldn't be happy right now.

Maybe some of the things that fans are asking for can't be done on the last gen.

Maybe so but it’s also not fair for players to expect developers to hinder their game and what content they can deliver by continuing to support a console that is essentially obsolete.

If they totally threw them under the bus would they even work on save file importing feature? They could just announce that they're done with PS3/Xbox360 and leave it at that.

I'd say that it's highly possible, considering how often old-gen consoles have been cited as things holding them back... Though I assume that the cost of creating a version on old-gen consoles vs. sales from DLC on these platforms are probably the deciding factor.

It is fair. Bioware made the game for those consoles, so all the extra content for that game should also be available for those consoles. If DAI was only for the PS4/XB1/PC from the beginning, that's fine. But having it for the PS3/360 then midway through the support cycle saying "You don't get stuff anymore. Buy the game again on a new console." is utterly unfair.

Having to buy a new copy of the game and a new console, a sum total of hundreds of dollars, just to get all the content for a game you already bought is throwing them under the bus. This save import is a band-aid on a dismembered limb.
