I would disagree.  Campaign would apply only to game-play itself -- storyline, missions, and the like.

https://twitter.com/...368550979444737

Edit:  also, one can make a case for the FAQ itself:

Do I get to transfer items from SP to MP? Or vice versa?

·         In Dragon Age: Inquisition, you are in charge of the Inquisition, and in Dragon Age multiplayer, you control a few agents of the Inquisition. There is no connection between SP items and MP items on purpose. We wanted to make sure that the two economies are separate, which will allow a stronger progression in both SP and MP. If you play Dragon Age multiplayer, you will learn how each class plays a different role in combat, how different skills work, and how your party composition can give you a tactical advantage on the battlefield. This knowledge is transferable to SP, but items are not.

Well maybe this makes it clearer.

Is disgusting how much are tryng to make people play mp. Even if Iiked it (and I don't, no matter the modality) I feel so nauseated I would not touch it with a stik.

No one is forcing you to play multilayer. For those of is that do, this is a pretty cool update. Get over it.

Ok guys, seriously, there is already a dedicated thread about the dragon decor where people discuss their point of view on playing MP to get it. Can we please keep grievances about this issue there?

so we can't talk about the new twitter post that is on this page? The way some people think they own this thread is laughable, it's a thread in a public forum.

This added with the SP items unlocked in MP are Bioware trying to force SP on people who don't want to play it but want all the content available on SP.

DAI's target audience sure changed over the last few months. At least if seen from the BSN's feedback section's POV.

a game for PC gamers (tac cam go home you're drunk) -> a game for console gamers (8 ability slots only) -> a game for current gen console gamers (but here's a savegame importer so it's all good, right?) ...

Good thing that, in my view, the KBM controls are okay. That bit about lastgen gamers not getting to play story based DLC, not so much.

Edit: Shutting up. All hail the Pinecone.

Well maybe this makes it clearer.

Not really.  Your quoted and linked material has nothing to do with the definition of the word campaign.   For me, the discussion at hand here is purely about semantics and meaning.  From Wiki:  Campaign (role-playing games) and campaign setting, a connected series of battles, adventures or scenarios played by the same character in a role-playing game -- it's all about the action oriented bits of the game.  A dictionary will define it in a similar way (without, of course, the gaming associations).

Frank, the past 6 pages have been nothing but talking about this. I'm not saying not to do it (some of the more insightful and also funny things I've read on this forum have been discussions of tweets), but if it takes so much time and space to discuss something, maybe it requires a thread all to itself, because clearly there is a lot to talk about.

And the last MP tweet didn't even mention anything about the decor, it was about new features STRICTLY for the MP - the Proving Grounds and difficulties, both of which have nothing to do with SP. The tweets have moved on, maybe it's time we do, too. If there is still something to discuss about a topic that has passed, instead of having the current conversations interrupted by references to something from 6 pages ago, maybe there should be a special thread for it, which, in this case, there already is.

Dragon Age Keep @DragonAgeKeep

Your #DAI career record is finally available in the Keep! To check it out, follow the steps we've posted here first - http://ow.ly/PlU7D

For all those who've been waiting to see their Inquisition records in the career section of the Keep - they're now available! If you want to check them out, here's what you'll need to do first:

  • Make sure you're using the same Origin account on DAI as the one you're using on the Keep
  • If you haven't already, please update DAI to Patch 8
  • After the game has updated visit the start menu to upload your records to the Keep
  • Finally, log into the Keep using the same Origin account and visit the Career section to view your DAI records

Visiting the start menu in DAI should trigger your achievements to sync with the Keep, however if something appears incorrect, you can always request an unlock from the Keep to correct it.

For people who have never played the MP before it is all linked to pushing MP on non-MP players. I believe that  was what Felya87 was talking about, the Proving Grounds dlc plus Locked Items as making people play MP.

Rather than looking at it as bioware rewarding those who play multiplayer, you perceive it as bioware punishing single player users for not playing multiplayer. While I do agree with you to an extent that this thread is meant to discuss tweets, Muffins is correct in the that this specific topic has nearly taken over the thread entirely. When a topic has such a passionate discussion it's best to move onto another thread not repurpose the tweet thread.

I understand your bitterness, Frank, Bioware has made some questionable decisions these past few days but I think you're taking things to a bit of an unpleasant extreme. Do you want them to not promote anything MP related at all? A part of their own game?

Here's a metaphor: I'm not interested in country music, I don't care for it at all. Does country musicians promoting themselves mean that they force their music on me? Does it not simply mean that they advertise themselves to people who are interested in them? Just because I see their promotions doesn't mean I have to take it as an attack on my personal interests, it's just there for other people. I'm not interested, so I ignore it. I have that option. This applies to everyone who doesn't care about MP. It is not something crucial to your existence and game experience and neither is the reward you get if you play MP. It is there as an added bonus for people who care.

And with that, I will now stop with this, it has gone on long enough, IMO.

COMICS!

I wasn't going to answer here again but I will. they promised not to lock SP content behind MP. The fact that they have then gone back on that and made the content for the coolest creature in the game, the game title creature no less, locked behind MP is totally out of order. Yes promote the MP game but not at the cost of those who have a real dislike for MP games.

And on your metaphor they would have forced their music on you if they made you play their album all the way through to get the song of the artist that you really love.

The same content could easily have been unlocked in sp by killing all the high dragons.

Make it exclusive to DAMP for a week as an incentive to get people to play multiplayer but after that it's up to you how unlock the theme. DAMP would still have the edge because it's the quicker way to obtain it in a new game.

“There’s no requirement or expectation that you play Dragon Age Multiplayer,” explained Flynn. “No story content in the single player campaign is affected by what you do in Dragon Age Multiplayer.”

Dragons mounted on the walls is not story content.

No single player progression is linked. It's purely cosmetic.

I killed ten dragons.  There were certainly stories behind those.

Here’s the thing you and others are still holding them to things they said about a year ago before the game was released. They said no single player content prior to release would be restricted by multiplayer, they delivered on this promise, at no point however did they say this would be par for the course for the entire DLC cycle. Now that the game is in its DLC cycle they are free to do as they choose with regards to how they deliver new content to players. Deal. With. It.

Honesty doesn't have an expiration date.

How am I supposed to trust anything they say in the future when "the truth" can change in six months?   Or they start wiggling around about what the definition of "content" is?

Between this and cutting lastgen consoles loose, this is just getting sleazier and sleazier.  :(
