Didn't Barrett get moved back onto Mass Effect? It will be just about time for us to start haunting the other board anyway.

Yeppers, though still on call for DAI support this week. But I still forsee much DAI tweets once it's out and I'm playing it fo realz though.

Probably because the devs are taking a much needed vacation haha.

Also weekend. Halloween parties weekend, even.

Wikia-ing your own IP feels like so much cheating though (which is why I do it all the time).

Do you guys use the DA Wiki as a reference? I would have thought Bioware would have it's own Dark Vault of DA Lore, surrounded by a moat of fan tears...

The past 2 months are the only I've ever been on DA, and I can't speak to what resources writing/editing keep around, but project specific internal wikis don't often carry much forward (depending). We've gone through a variety of different doc storage methods over the course of projects too (ME at least), can be impossible to transfer/convert all that stuff forward.

But all I do is just break things ingame, don't need no wiki for that, just my trusty QACurse!

And that trusty Curse is going to make sure that we don't have to deal with a ton of bugs in the game.  Since you're around, I'd like to thank you and your team for that.   :D

I SUFFER FOR YOUR HAPPINESS *drinks some tears to balance it out*

I understand that people can get outraged at a question like taht (I don't like it either), but hints towards suicide or other things like that are inappropriate.

Removed some posts.

Thank you.

That's what I heard and clicked out of, but my brief impression was that

Spoiler

In case it wasn't clarified elsewhere, this is accurate with respect to the idea of what it means for the Inquisitor to have amnesia.

Now I'm having Memento vibes. I suppose its impossible to play the game backwards? :P

/writes this down for DA4

You start at level cap.  You win when you reach level 0.

Would that even be fun though?

Would you gain skills as you lose levels, or lose skills as you lose levels?

Would the enemies scale down with you, or become harder as you lost levels?

I suppose it could make an interesting fade mission?

Without giving it much thought, I agree it probably wouldn't be fun.  Maybe if I gave it a bit more thought but 'twas a silly post! :P

I remember when we were all celebrating being under 100 days.... Then 50... It's almost surreal at this point!

It is for me too.  Longest I've ever worked on a single project!

Am guessing one of the happiest folks at Bioware is the one with the coffee, tea, cocoa, and soda concessions!

:D

Actually the happiest folks are probably any currently vacationing somewhere in/near a tropical temperate zone.

"Unlike in other Dragon Age games, however, there is the possibility for homosexual romances, which is a great addition to the game."

Uhhh, what?

Might be a semantics thing, in that this game has the first exclusively gay characters (unless you count Juhani which is a long time ago, but it still applies for a male character).

Yes, but I don't recall there being an actual romance to Juhani.

Unless I managed to miss something in my 30 or so replays...

I've actually never seen the Juhani content so I can't say.

Are you playing DA:I atm Barret or do you have to wait til launch aswell despite being a dev? O.o

Technically I could just sync down the final build and just start playing, but only at work and with a test account, and also my workstation pales a fair bit to my new home PC rig (and even my older secondary home PC). So I'm "stuck" waiting for a proper retail copy same as y'all. ;)

Okay, this is actually really addictive and cool.

But only one floor!?

I wanna see the Writer's Pit!

There should be floor buttons on the bottom right. Elevator banter not included.

Yay or nay on moving this to spoiler free section?

My judge of what posts constitute "spoilers" is poor because I know a lot as is!  But maybe move this thread to spoiler free section, and the various links that dig deeper can be posted in Spoiler scuttlebutt?

IMO - Moving this forum over the non-spoiler board sounds like a great idea. :)

Okay moved.

Use your judgment when creating offshoot threads that go into more spoilery details as to whether or not they should go into Spoiler Scuttlebutt or not.  If they do just give people a heads up for the link that it's in the Spoiler subforum.

Thanks everyone!

because you aren't controlling the character /facepalm

Anyway, I hope they fix it in a day 1 patch or something

You're not controlling the characters (especially not in spinning around in circles) in conversations either.  At least, the "full conversations' that are cinematic.  The conversations that you still have player control over won't do this.  At least they shouldn't, because the cinematic system isn't taking control.

This is done mostly because the animation system can behave oddly for complex animations if something happens that causes them to be updated asynchronously.  So we synched the two during cinematics to work around this issue.  Fixing the problem would be a lot of work, and likely won't be patched (definitely not day one) unless other, more serious issues end up manifesting as a result of this system.

That's a shame to hear but thank you for responding specifically to the issue.

I'll shut up about FPS now

For sure.  I'm also not a great judge (years of having to settled for 20-25 fps on my poor computer to play Counterstrike makes me pretty tolerant to frame rate drops) for whether or not it was really noticeable in a negative way.  Hopefully it's not an issue for those more tuned to higher frame rates.

While you're here. Do you know who was behind the trailer music?

Not sure what you're referring to here?  Which trailer?  Good chance it was probably Trevor Morris... but if it wasn't him I probably don't know.
