Yup.I'm assuming the number of creatures that can appear on-screen at once.
Yup.
The old consoles are the reason the "battles" of Adamant and the Arbor Wilds are really just a bunch of empty space with an occasional sprinkling of small encounters. I guess they didn't want to keep doing that for the DLC.
And if the recent survey is to believed, you can see why they might want to up the numbers... ![]()

Bioware can't discuss the reasons for not releasing future DLC on old platforms? Can you explain why you can't explain? NDA?
we need to do things that simply were not possible on older hardware (creature density being the #1 thing)
I'm surprised he gave an actual answer!
What is creature density?
How many creatures (and other things) can be running at once. Though, since he specified creatures (which includes characters) it seems to point to... a big battle. Here's hoping anyway.

Interesting, so it’s mainly a resource issue. I can't say I'm surprised and this really makes me excited for what’s coming but also a bit sad because it makes me wonder how epic the adamant and arbor wilds battles could’ve been if they had dropped last gen sooner.
Uh oh! Qunari, Qunari everywhere! I don't have the meme, but people will get it.
Ah, the Rime of the Ancient Inquisitor:
"Qunari, Qunari everywhere
nor any drop to drink."
Everyone back to the tavern!

Uh, I know that this will sound somewhat bad for old gen console users... but if I had to choose between artistic integrity and sticking old-gen consoles myself, I know exactly what I'd sacrifice and I'm kind of glad they did as well. If anything, this makes me quite excited about the DLC, because whatever they're preparing, it promises to be pretty nice ![]()
Yeah, and we might have gotten a Skyhold siege. (I've heard a Skyhold siege was something they ruled out from the start because of this issue on oldgen)Interesting, so it’s mainly a resource issue. Yeah...A Skyhold siege is very possible now. Hopefully it's going to happen.

Granted, I'm not sure how they'd do it now as Skyhold is surrounded on all sides by sheer cliffs.
... Lol, I can already see the Qunari use ingenious battle tactic conceived by Iron Bull and proposed to Sera - they'll be throwing elven Viddathari who shoot arrows at people xD
I think I'll need to make a Qunari that I can stay dedicated to, since they might get tons of reactions.... ![]()

Thats still no excuse for the lack of an apology to old gen users and more importantly not giving them a free next gen copy as compensation. Not to mention the fact that to import a save users need to buy exactly the same edition as they had on last gen.

We have no idea what will happen in upcoming next weeks, so it's too early to judge that particular aspect of the entire situation.

User
I only wonder what could have been if you cut last gen out of the base game as well.
it definitely took significant effort.
User
you released a half finished game for all consoles, then went people to spend a bunch of money on a NEW console to finish it?
half finished? How so?
User
It has a very open ending, which I'm assuming will be resolved in the upcoming DLC's
User
Which would be fine, but now you want people to shell out for new consoles to be able to play the DLC's
User
What about the people who can't? All they get is the open ended base game

The DLC seems like it's going to be very essential to the inquisition plot, and not simply a fun option add on
the plot about stopping the rift in the sky? Or are you referring to something that happens after the credits?
User
After the credits
User
No it's not bc of the scene itself, do you know the current DLC rumors going around right now?
Dragon Age: Inquisition was intended to stand on its own. The post credit stuff was a stinger like a Marvel movie.
Sorry you feel the game was unfinished because it was there. Guess that's a reason not to do that sort of thing in the future
User
So the future dai DLC's won't be essential to the plot? I know you cant give spoilers but can you answer that in any capacity
that is unanswerable. Even Jaws of Hakkon provides lore and backstory. So where does one kind of content stop and another begin?
User
I figured as much, which is fine, but you should know shortly before this was announced there was a supposed bioware survey
since the story of DAI is the story of (spoiler), I would consider all DLC not essential to that storyline.
User
well shortly before this was announced there were rumors that a future DLC would be very plot essential
again, I'm not sure what plot essential means. There will be follower stuff in upcoming DLC
User
The rumor just sounds a lot like a conclusion to the Inquisitor's story, which obviously a lot of people would be upset if
User
but a lot of people right now are upset bc they think they won't be able to finish the inquisitor as a character's story
that's fair. We needed to make the change, unfortunately.
User
I do understand the change, I just wish it had been this way from the beginning
me too. Man it would have simplified things.
Whoa! He's getting grilled, but I can see how this situation would make people angry. I, too, like the ending of Inquisition, but it's so frustrating how some people can make the devs change up so many things. ![]()
Nooo I thought the post credit scene was brilliant don't want them to stop doing stuff like that.
Getting people to stop complaining about it would help. The more people complain and claim BioWare half-assed it, or was poor writing, the less likely they will do something.
Perfect example, they use to come to BSN, then they started being told that they should of been killed in the womb, or their kids/dog/parents/anything should die due to the game, or that they shouldn't get paid because making a game should be about heart and not money (even though they kinda gotta eat), so they stopped coming to BSN.

Pffft, that's the "accusation" leveled against pretty much every artist/content creator ever since inception of the Internet - or, who knows, maybe even inception of art itself. Ah, all the times I (or people I know/like) heard or read that someone asking compensation for their skills and hard work is a fraud, cash-grabber or a sellout... Really, anybody who makes such comment deserves nothing more but to be ignored.
