Patch 8 is the current version, patch 9 is the beta. I think Wiedzmin was just trying to point out that talking about content within the patch, even implying that it may or may not effect SP content, is a breach of the NDA. 

 

Not really. If one were to know with certainty that a piece of content was tied to something else, single player in this instance, then yes they would be in the breach of the NDA. Making assumptions about content however doesn’t breach NDA’s otherwise people would be breaching them left right and centre. So long as you don’t talk about specifics you’re fine.

That seems to be how BioWare is enforcing it (I can think of at least one instance of beta-specific information being posted about the Black Emporium and the person staying in the beta for at least another round or two), but NB to anyone else in the beta who is reading this: technically we all signed a document permitting us to disclose only two things: that a beta exists and that we're in it. There's not even an amendment for "and I think it is awesome / OK / boring" like there was with the Keep.

It does - it's not just stability on PC that is being tested.

There will be bugs that will affect all platforms for one. Also balancing of mp content is something that will be consistent across platforms so in the beta’s they can test proposed balancing tweaks before they go live to ensure they don't break the game.

Actually, the saddest event I can imagine currently is the death of one like Josephine; a person without combat skills, but vital and beloved to the Inquisition. Dagna could use runes, and many other Agents and NPC's are also able to defend themselves, but someone like Josie is more reliant on the others. I know my Inq's would be angry enough for that story.

Josie trained as a bard so is hardly defenceless.

She also freaked out over her first actual kill and it was accidental, to boot. Josie's not completely inept or defenseless with weaponry, but she's still the one I'd put the least money on in an actual fight/siege. Thankfully, she's also likely number 2 (after the inquisitor) on Leliana's list to "protect in case of being overrun", so I'm sure she'll be ok.
