Cuz something abt the whole being an Inquisitor thing seems off. Unless they airbrush the whole group. Then even the idea of "leading" it makes me question. Who the heck are we that anyone would entrust us like that.
Although, I still want my red cape. For moments when dramatic emphasis is needed.

I was thinking the same thing, Ericander. What if we're running from the inquisition? Or, one of our backgrounds allows us to.

I've thought long and hard about this inquisition thing, the only hint we ever got that we'd be leading this inquisition was in the survey leak. For which the devs had been telling us won't reflect the finished game probably. So I got to thinking, what if our protagonist is actually working against the inquisition? That would make sense given the fear of the templar backround forcing our protagonist to be anti-mage (and bioware has said that we won't be forced to either side).
I think you're dramatically overthinking this. They've said that the survey is old, blah blah blah. But they felt the need to announce the game with NOTHING to show to try to divert attention away from the survey. It's obviously not irrelevent. The survey made it pretty clear that the mage-Templar conflict is not the fical point of the story. This new Inquisition has nothing to do with hunting down mages and the like. It's about uncovering what's causing catastrophies all over Thedas, including a massive tear in the veil that decimates a peace summit between the mages and Templars and sends demons spewing forth into the waking world. I personally have no doubt that we're playing as The Inquisitor.

Who the heck was the Warden recruit to lead the nation of Ferelden against the Blight?

I hope there will be Save gen or something. I don't want to play DA 2 again- I don't like this game.
They can't design the game so that it requires the previous games. I'm sure there will be options to pick from if you never played (like there were in DA2).

I agree with BasilKarlo, the survey is old but there's still some truth to it even if it's just the very basics of the plot. I'm 99.9% sure we'll be part of the Inquisition/the Inquisitor.

Current-gen/Cross-gen = Confirmed. After all, both Sony and Microsoft have both announced that Xbox One and PS4 will not be backwards compatible. So, unless there is some way for the saves, without the games, to import to the new consoles...

I would hope companions join us under a variety of different circumstances and I'm confident that they will. I want some to join willingly, maybe one or two even in some kind of 'official capacity' related to the Chantry or something. In particular I hope someone joins up with you against their will, whether it's under duress, under orders from a higher authority, against their better judgment, any of those really, and I hope he/she is bitter about it so we can argue a lot. Because I really loved the rivalry system and I want companions with *issues* tailor made for me to be disagreeable with them.Angrywolves wrote...
But what our companions ? Will certain ones only join our party under certain conditions ? Will others leave if we violate their principles ? It's not just the Inquisitor alone.
(I'm assuming the friendship/rivalry system or something similar is coming back, of course. If it isn't...

As far as Priestly's tweet. I saw what I think was it, and I didn't find it particularly offensive...but I may have a higher threshold for guy humor.
Let's call it what it is: sexist, inappropriate humor. Is that what most "guy humor" is? Yes. Should it get a pass because most guys are sexist, inappropriate jerks? No. We have to demand better of people if we want them to change, doubly so if they hold positions of (relative) power in an industry that needs changing.

That said, he did own it. He tried not to at first, but in the end he completely owned it. He said he was wrong. "Period". and should not have said it.

Honestly, that's all I can ask of a human being. We all say dumb stuff sometimes. *raises hand* But the real test of a person's character is if they're willing to own it w/grace and sincerity.
I think Priestly did that. Which is saying alot cuz he's feisty....
Absolutely, and I'm glad he did. I like Chris. I think he's good at his job. I want to keep liking him!
But I'm of the opinion that one of the best tests of someone's character is ... just not making vaguely sexual comments about someone's body, particularly a colleague (!)
Here's hoping that by acknowledging it, we help it never to happen again.

Please teach us more about grouping genders in one basket and how your comment is totally not sexist in itself, and while you're at it, make me a sandwich, so I can go enjoy it in the upcoming flame war.

It is hardly reverse discrimination when someone complains about people being bigoted. Most sexists are men, and most men due to society have hang ups about women, women complaining about that is not reverse sexism. Saying men are stupid, weak, inferior would be reverse sexism and still isn't as much of an issue since men are still dominant in society and less likely to be hurt by such comments still VERY wrong but less common and less hurtful at large. Fact is women and men are more similar than not, with a few biological diffrances like babies and that men have more strength while women have more dexterity.
That said, I looked up what he said, and it took me 5 times to see what the comment was. It seemed relatively harmless. She said she got a free bit of food at a restaurant while wearing a D&D shirt. He said a thing about if he had gone topless he would be kicked out, a tad crude and he was right to apologize, but the reaction was a too much.

I read both comments back then, never realised they were linked. So this is it? I agree Priestly is tasteless most of the time, but this is overreaction at its finest.
