This is not really news - the devs mentioned some time ago on twitter that content for MP (edit: for old-gen) ceases with the end of July.

So DAI won't even be getting any new patches on older consoles? Wow, they abandoned it 100% huh
I guess they wanted to add something to the game that was graphically challenging for old consoles?
Memory challenging?
Both?
Something else?
Dunno, but i selfishly hope the new DLC, whatever it is, if it concerns single player, will address the lack of metal in most Inquisition themed heavy armors, and the lack of variety in heavily armored Inquisitor outfits in general.
I always felt the final tier of armor visually never made it in the game, based on the concept art i saw and got hyped.
Oh well.
I don't really think that it's armors that will stress the old systems though. It's probably the effort of supporting all consoles, with the limitations of each, maybe it's not effective to add content that will run on 5 systems separately, and facing twice as much problems, especially if the new content is challenging for the physical capabilities of the old gen consoles.

Oh, okay. I thought you meant for everybody - new-gen and last-gen - but that's just saying last-gen. So, yeah, you're right, today's news isn't really news at all.

Hunh.
This is definitely looking like a DLC focused on the Deep Roads, darkspawn and dwarves.
Which looks completely different to the ~leak~ that was being talked about a while ago.
I wonder if there might actually be two more DLC packs coming? That would be cool.
If the Qunari leak DLC is also accurate, I don't really know how they're going to work you-know-who into that, but you never know, I guess.

Personally I think that Qunari leak is for the last dlc / real expansion. So we probably have at least 1 more monetized dlc first (considering the amount of content compared to the price in a dlc or xpac, the xpac is a far greater value, and thus EA wants many DLCs first before they'd let a less profitable venture go).
A deep roads DLC seems likely, it opens a new area to the game and considering the Elder One is a DS it makes sense with the story to have some reason to venture down there.
The Qunari stuff seems mostly like it would be laying the ground work for DA4. Qunari invade, but are repelled, albiet at great cost. Rivain might be lost, Antiva too. That makes DA:Minrathous a logical next step in the series. It also kinda makes it hard for DLC to come out after that without actually addressing the concerns raised in this xpac.
My 2 pennies.

I'm also under the impression that the survey leak describes the last DLC, but it's not necessarily the next DLC - there's been hints about Deep Roads DLC for quite a while now, and it seems unlikely that dwarf/darkspawn stuff + Qunari stuff + you-know-who stuff could all be worked into a single piece of DLC.

I guess what might be evidence against that is the Spoils of the Qunari pack, which as someone said earlier could easily be assets that they're going to use in the rumoured "last DLC". It doesn't really make sense that they would have those ready and sell them now if there's going to be another DLC in-between.
That said, I can't really imagine how all this hinting about the Deep Roads, dwarves, darkspawn etc could fit in with the "leaked" stuff described in the marketing survey, which focused on qunari and "the one who started it all". So if that refers to a singleplayer DLC, it seems likely that it's separate to the survey one.
Unless the Deep Roads DLC really is just more MP stuff (a new map, new enemy faction and new unlockable characters?) and the next singleplayer DLC will be the last one, focused on the qunari and Solas.
The more I think about it now, the more that actually makes sense. It would be disappointing if DAI only had two DLC packs though, given how many there have been for other Bioware games.

Getting a little bit hyped for this. I haven't bought JoH yet because it just doesn't appeal to me that much, but a deeproads DLC is something i definitely want. The best part of Dragon Age 1 was the deep roads. I guess i love the sense of isolation.
Also, if this means we're getting at least 2 DLC story packs(deeproads and the Qunari) i'd be more then satisfied.

Yeah, I'd agree and I still hope for more than that. And to be absolutely precise (and nitpicking), the survey didn't say "last DLC", did it? I think it was about the "final fate of the Inquisition" and "a last adventure with your team", so it's still possible that while it might be the last one in a chronological sense, we could still get others which work rather independently inside the timeline (like Legacy, Mark of the Assassin or Jaws of Hakkon did) or just don't include the whole Inquisition anymore and are set post-Inquisition. No idea how likely that is, I know, but up until the point where there's an actual statement that states "This is the final SP DLC, see you in a few years for DA4!" or something, we can only speculate anyway.

I am still expecting the Deep Roads stuff to sadly be DAMP content it is the part of the game they have been mostly teasing new content for even telling people to go and opt into the beta test if you want to know more.

There is a chance BioWare was green-lit a bigger expansion like DLC from EA after its overwhelming success and plans changed from multiple JoH sized DLC's to Jaws of Hakkon what could have already been in development around launch and a bigger more encompassing DLC what could address some complaints the base game had maybe with a directors cut/enhanced edition style patch while telling a larger story, it would also explain the sudden drop of support for the old systems.

As if I wasn't confused enough... so much for trying to learn the maps
. I can see how this would be a lot better for veterans who are bored of the same thing over and over though.
Paradoxically (lovely word that, but I digress) you may see some veterans confused exactly because they have the current routes so well memorised.
I think the torch runs could be a real laugh, provided you have a twisted sense of humour.

I really hope is nothing MP related. Already MP seem to get waaaaay more attention than single player, I will be even more pissed if characters like Sigrun or deep roads or qunari end up in content many (myself included) don't/can't enjoy like MP.

Well the story is kinda the selling point for BioWare games so much so their MMO is focusing on solo story now, not saying DAMP shouldn't get content mind you it just feels like thats all they talk about these days apart from vague teases of something story related what could happen sometime, maybe, if there is a blood moon and you do a Nug sacrifice at 11:34pm while facing north shouting ancient elvish.
