I think that was just a bit of spin in response to the negative feedback that they were getting even at that point (which was like, four months before release). A lot of people were grumpy about the rachni, EDI, Shepard's dialogue and the Javik subplot even when all we knew about the endings was in three ambiguous cinematic direction lines. Saying it was all open to change was an easy thing to do at the time, perhaps.
(And they actually did record Martin Sheen's final lines *after* the leak, but that seems to be because Casey and Mac didn't really know how to end his storyline until very late in development. As far as we know very little, or nothing, was actually changed pre-launch as a result of feedback they were getting.)
Given the timeframes actually required to make any big changes, it's probably really hard to do so and still keep the quality high. There's a bigger point in all this about spin and hype and marketing, but it's not really relevant to DA3

Lol, for some reason--if Snoop played DA--I'd see him as totally going Mage class.

Usually proving your mettle with various deeds is seen as adequate justification for rising through the ranks even without all the ranks above you dying off, as with the Neverwinter Nights 2 example. Nasher, the NW9, etc don't all have to die to make room for the knight-commander. The meteoric rise may be exceptional, but they match that with exceptional accomplishments to justify it. It's videogame/fantasy/fiction-plausible, IMO.rapscallioness wrote...
It sounded to me like we would be in a position of power very early on. Of, course, I could be totally wrong. What I was wondering is how exactly they would go about doing that? Would they have us rise to power like the Warden did? By default? Would it be a story told in the background choices? How much of the game would be devoted to this rise of power?
I'm just wondering how they're going to go about doing this in a way that seems....plausible w/out repeating how they did it in DAO.
But yea, there are lots of ways they could do it... assuming this kind of rise is what's in store, anyway.

I don't like being the all powerfull protagnoist.I like to feel that I'm fighting a hard battle,I like to feel like I'm trying hard to get respect etc.I don't like when I get all power in games.Leading the Inquisition doesn't sound appealing to me if the Inquisition will be a big organization. If the Inquisition is a group of 20ish people then it would be fine.

I, on the other hand, want an army at my hands. I'd like to think of myself as a tactician, so holding so many lives in my hand and making sure everybody or most everybody makes it out alive gives me a sense of accomplishment. The power that comes with it is irrelevant, however, as it comes with having such a large group and the prestige to lead them.

It only confirms that decisions from former games will be acknowledged in DA III, not save imports. We have still no clue about the system and I doubt it'll be save imports.

Which just means that they come out as "official" during EA's pre-E3 event.
I assume they could have more information during the actual days of E3, so while we might not get a whole lot tomorrow, we could have more information in the next few days.

Me neither, but my male bloodmage Inquisitor might take a shot at him. Simply so I can make Cullen feel as conflicted as possible.

It's official since the end of last year.
Tomorrow they WILL show the game, maybe only for about 5min but they will.
And there will be more during the week.
