IF the story DLC is about dwarves, maybe they're putting out all this new info for those bunch of new people that never played origins? DAI didn't have quite the same focus on dwarven lore as the previous games.
That's been my theory.

If it is, I bet we'll get the same elf-at-ToM-exposition madness from a dwarven Inquisitor, for the benefit of new players. "Orzammar has a caste system?" "What's the Shaperate?" "Legion of the what?" (I'm not bitter)
Dragon Age @dragonage
Which caste would you be? http://bit.ly/1DfR4NG #DAI
You know what I am the most happy about the next DLC maybe be set in the Deep Roads...no Shards...no Astrariums. (I hope...please BioWare)
I personally don't have a clue but google says 'kill la kill' and google is never wrong!

In fairness, the dwarf inquisitor is a surface-born carta enforcer, they have a legitimate excuse for not being well versed in Orzammar culture.
I imagine the marketing strategy meeting went something like this:
Employee: "Great! So we'll get right on the promotion for that new DLC. Targeted ads in game magazines, gamer websites, maybe a trailer we'll unveil at one of the larger game conventions...yeah, we can do a lot with this. One more thing: what's our budget for this?"
Boss: (checks notes) "Looks like ten."
Employee: "Well, ten thousand's a little light, but we'll see what we can do."
Boss: "No, I mean ten dollars"
Employee: "So.....uh....let the unpaid intern handle it then?"
Boss: "Yep."
Cheers for the story! ![]()

That's true, the player can decide how much the dwarf Inquisitor knows about Orzammar. I started but never finished a dwarf playthrough and mine told Josephine "psh, I've snuck into Orzammar all the time," for example. It's less set in.....stone.

Astrariums are my favorite thing and I'm not being sarcastic. They really are. lol So, I would love more. (And technically they ARE optional so
)
Shards I could do without, though. Unless Solasan ends up actually being more important than it seemed to be, then I could live with more shards.

Oh, it's nice to have a dream...
Trust me... there'll be convenient holes in cavern ceilings for astrariums and big enough caverns for shard hunting. ![]()
(Personally, I like the astrarium puzzles...)

I think the thing that makes me happy about this is the next DLC is getting teases at all. JoH was all of the sudden, so if this is getting background lore stuff and what not, it must be a good one.
I'm not saying JoH was bad. I loved every minute of it, much like Skellige in Witcher 3, I enjoyed the environment, people and their culture. Let's not forget how the Rifts dropped Tier 4 Schematics!
But the fact that the next big thing is getting all this treatment...it says alot.
The lore-catch up is good anyway, when we've been away awhile we forget details of the lore. This might help us play smarter.
Astrariums. I have one tattooed on my collar bone. This is a true story.
Watch them come up with a new, deep roads specific collectible that is just as, er, ubiquitous as the sky shards. As long as there's actually a good lore pay off at the end, I'd be fine with it. At least in my one, completionist playthrough. lol

I know, and I hated them. Looked up the Wiki solution to the ones in the WA because you had to get them to get that last bit of that Fire rune.

Its funny I had this thought too. ![]()
Inquisitor: Oh look at this conviniently placed hole...in the ceiling *looks up at it*

Shee I haven't gotten there yet! &runs over and places hand on Jord's mouth*
Either that or A. we are imagining things or B. BioWare is trolling its fan base really, really, hard.
(Disgusted noise.)
Not sorry. In fact I hope we get to make that very pun in-game!

"I trust this punishment isn't too unbearable.
It'd be great if those who wanted could finally culminate their "romance" with Harding. I mean, technically, a dwarf-themed DLC would be an opportune time.
Well maybe not opportune for banging or anything..
My dwarf still believed in the stone, but that didn't stop him from acknowledging the Maker existence. Cadash could still have ties to Orzammar, and I'm pretty sure that the dwarves of Orzammar would be interested in a dwarf that has connections to the Fade.
Some dwarves might (Dagna), but in general, they also might be like "Who cares about a sun-touched crazy and his/her glowy hand?" Solas and Varric talk about how dwarves are the only ones who can theoretically mine and study lyrium safely and yet they seem to have no actual inclination to do so. Varric says they only care about :honor and tradition". Same line of thinking may apply to the dwarven inquisitor themselves. At least, in Orzammar. Surface dwarves might show more interest.

I'd hope it wouldn't turn out like the Vega or Javik "romances" in ME. Like, "one night stand haha! :D" and that's it. Or worse, Diana Allers. *shudders*
Real romance for Harding, please, Bioware. Kelly Chambers levels at least.

(Paraphrased a bit) 'Who's Mythal?' - Dalish Elf Inquisitor's auto dialogue stuff who was not big on elvish history apparently. ![]()

It's even sadder funnier when you're playing a mage. As former First you should know this stuff even when asked after being brutally wakened from deep sleep.

Sometimes they even forget elvish (somehow?) I am starting to think there was another reason the Dalish elf Inquisitor was sent away from their clan and it had nothing todo with mages or templars. ![]()
