I was replaying Origins and I forgot about certain areas that always trigger party banter. They should have left that in DAI. That will be something worth putting into the next DA game or heck maybe in the next DLC if possible.
It can't work the same way though. Trigger points only work in Origin because the map is much more constricted so player movement is much more predictable. You're always going to cross those points if you want to traverse a map.
In Inquisition, the open world makes those trigger points almost impossible to implement. They actually do exist in some form, but only because the player is bound to cross certain landmarks triggering an environmental speech by a companion. However the player is only likely to cross it once or twice, so making it a permanent banter trigger point is not as sensible.
They'd have to use some other algorithm, like crossing boundaries or lines rather than spots. Maybe make them concentric circles or something and force a resting period between triggers to prevent spamming if you happen to cross the line several times in the same minute.
