....Is it me or do many people have quite unrealistic expectations when it comes to both the last supposed DLC, or when it's going to be announced^^;?

IMO? Cool fights and moar epic loot and perhaps epic customization would be really cool. But I really wouldn't mind if this last, almost fabled DLC will simply contain story, some interesting choices and some meaningful companion interactions.

Yuck. That doesn't sound good.

Hopefully it was something they realized early on and decided to figure it out anyway for the last DLC.

I’m doubtful of them having found a way to be honest. Overhauling systems for an entire game is...messy to say the least. It’s not a simple fix and it could create a lot of problems so it may not necessarily be worth the risk. It would also probably require the coders who originally made those systems to either walk another bunch of coders through the process or be brought back in on the project to make the changes themselves which seems unlikely as a fair amount of them have been moved onto ME:A.

I guess one way they could get around it is to have future DLC act like an expansion. They could separate it from the base game and have it use new systems rather than rely on the old ones. Regardless it seems rather short sighted of them to have capped the max level so low. If you do absolutely everything in the base game you can easily get to level 23-24 by the end and assuming that they knew they were going to be making DLC for DAI, as JOH was in dev while the base game was going through certification I don’t quite get why they didn’t set it far higher, like 40 or something just to give themselves some breathing room.

Placing some amulets of power in some hidden spots or as quest rewards could be a solution - at least one for each character.

Experience is a part of character progression. It's a reward for questing and combat, the same way you get loot for defeating enemies or finding chests.

Some people don't mind, but personally, when I hit a level cap, I lose interest in continuing very quickly. All the things that you're doing that would normally provide experience no longer have any tangible effect (except for boss loot drops and some minor gold rewards). It begins to feel like you're just spinning tires when the characters stop improving.

I don't really care about skill points. They're nice, but the experience reward itself is an important part of the system, and there's no cheap way around that. I wouldn't want the final piece of post-game content to come out with really only the story elements and possible loot (that isn't going to have much use, since it's all taking place after the end of the main game) as the only sense of progression.

... Um, isn't the same with experience? It will be post-game after all...

It's the same with levels. Which is why simply seeding skill amulets into the DLC isn't really a solution.

They have to raise the lvl cap. End of story. If there're technical issues they do have staff for it. I didn't gain single xp point during the Descent...

If the combat is challenging at level 27, why is the level cap so important? I think challenging combat and cool "stuff" is enough, besides the story. I don't miss the XP.

Yeah, that's pretty much all I want from the final DLC. We've got the epic loot aleady.

I feel like on a challenge level the first two DLC meet that criteria, I don't expect the final to be easy, but for me story and choices is king.

Maybe with the final dlc, we can reach level 30.
And the twitter's user just wants to get points to complete ability tree, so the amulet of power can resolve that.

I know  it probably won't happen, but it would be cool if they offically confrom and drop the title for Dragon Age 4 at Pax.

Why? Especially when you can't add more abilities to the power wheel, as their is a limit to that anyway. The only bonus you'd really get out of it is getting +3 on stats and thats it. What they really need to do is increase the Inqustition level to at least 27.

Leveling up is a large sense of accomplishment.

I think the main issue of removing the level cap may be due to enemies tied to auto level. That's my theory. Or becoming so OP you break the game by one shotting Cory.

I don't think you can honestly become that OP even with tier 4 gear, since you only get +3 bonuses or so to your stats with each passive, and none from active skills.

It's probably more a matter of "stuff breaks if you have too many skills/too much experience" etc.

Well, let's face it - each passive also adds a nice bonus: more crit, reduced cooldowns, stamina regeneration with each kill, weakening enemies with each attack... it's not just +3 to a random stat.

With DAI, getting OP is actually quite easy. But it's more about (1) putting points into abilities and passives that have synergy with each other and (2), picking fade touched mats and abilities that allow one to receive damage mitigation while outputting damage, a la Guard on Hit, Chance to Fade Cloak, To the Death, and Knight Enchanter's Barrier on Hit.

Personally, I wouldn't really be gaining much from any new skill points, especially with the 8 ability limit.

Increased focus replenishment would be nice, but no need for dramatic cap raising in my view.

I think we need some additional passive buffs in the inquisitor tree at this point. By level 27 you've completed several trees and the rest are just there to +strength +dexterity +magic because you've already got 8+ abilities.

I stopped changing my skill slots long before level 27, since I sort of developed my own kind of play style that I preferred and once I got used to it I didn't really change. I don't even like half the skills in my chosen concentration.

My sense of accomplishment comes with the killing of things.

This. I miss the old timey way of having access to all my spells/abilities in combat. I already have most of the passives, so raising the level cap will just give me more skills I don't have a slot for. Maybe in DA4 they could fix this? I know it sure would make me happy.

OK; confession time while playing The Descent.

How many besides myself returned to either Skyhold to customize arms or armor, and/ or went to The Black Emporium to CC their character due to appearances in cut-scenes or cinematics?

I almost did , poor Dorian didn't have any helmet (I have helmets on ) but I decided vanity had no place in the Deep Roads.

So I crafted a hood , mustard yellow.

I was very conflicted about this.
