OK; confession time while playing The Descent.

How many besides myself returned to either Skyhold to customize arms or armor, and/ or went to The Black Emporium to CC their character due to appearances in cut-scenes or cinematics?

Aye! I ran into the DLC with hilariously weak armour and a Reaver Inquisitor. It was a mess, a horrible horrible mess. It didn't help I also had Bull, Varric and Dorian (who's armour and staff needed an upgrade) with me. I replaced Bull with Cassandra and managed to beat the DLC. Got to admit being a reaver isn't always fun!

I prepped for everything before leaving Skyhold, but had to make a quick run to the mirror at Black Emporium after the first Descent cutscene because my Quizzy had too much blush. The horror! I didn't want all the darkspawn laughing at her as she killed them.

I'd be up for Varric kicking it in the next DLC. It would be quite a shock, and personally it would make me hate the enemy of the DLC that much more.

 

Comparing to all the other characters, none would quite have the effect of being killed then Varric. He's been at the centre of the storm for the past 2 games now, where as others, Cullen, Leliana, Cassandra, have just really been on the sidewalk. Not to mention he's the storyteller, he makes sure everyone is remembered through the tales, not just the Inquisitor, so it would punch me right in the gut if that was to happen.

 

All the more reason wishing I could go Anders 2.0 on the enemy of the DLC. (Dagger buried hilt deep into the nemesis's back!).

I'd be surprised if they killed a permanent party member in a DLC...it would be a first unless you count Awakening, right?

I customized arms and armour in the crafting stations in the first camp of the DLC.

I customized arms and armour in the crafting stations in the first camp of the DLC.

I required tinting, as Vivienne would not have been caught dead in that. And the first time I saw the cream colored fringe on my Duster drag through mud and fire, had to get something a bit less formal then evening wear. Blame this on binge watching Downton Abbey....

I don't know if they'll kill Varric, but since it's the final DLC I think they'll do something huge that changes everything!

Guys think about this for a second, why would they kill off Varric when he is tied to so much content, compared to other companions. Unless if this dlc is post ending...but BioWare doesn't have a history (Extended Cut doesn't count) of doing post ending content. At most I think the last DLC will take place once you get Skyhold.

Well there's also Awakening. That was most definitely post-ending. 

 

And Mike Laidlaw has indicated several times that they are aware people want a chance to confront and interact with [Redacted] again, including a chance for the Inquisitor to actually find out about [Redacted]'s identity and role in recent events. The devs have been coy about it all, like: "Oh, people want that? Really?", responding to it in such a way that tells me its on their radar and they are indeed going to touch on it at some point. And that can all really only happen post-ending.

I don't how I would feel if it I have to put in so many hours again to play a DLC. As I plan to do a playthrough with all the DLC and play them at once. I didn't think about Awakening, but that can be started with a different character right?

How many DLCs are you expecting? Most Bioware games recently have had three major packs.

I totally expect the next DLC to be the last one, it's nearly a year since Inquisition launched.

Expecting? the word would be hoping for 2 more not one thanks to it only being out a year which these days isn't very long. perhaps they should have spread the first two out a bit more if they're only doing 1 more. But meh, I can still wish the game would have lasted longer then a year, nothing wrong with that.
