Ironically, they are a little. I use the portraits to indicate my current choices of characters used in games. Just finished my 2nd campaign of Descent with my human Mage; hence Merlin (I know he is not technically all human, but hey! I like the skullcap).

:)

Gonna be honest, I thought that was the wizard that turns into the big lizard man from Conan the Destroyer.

We haven't heard anything about Lukas Kristjanson, Sheryl Chee, Brianne Battye moving. Since Courtney Woods and Hall Hood did much of the writing on The Descent, I also wonder if they're going to be poached from BioWare Austin. (Of course, I guess that depends on what BioWare Austin end up working on next.)

 

The simple way to find out would probably be for someone to tweet Patrick and ask if he's all alone in the Writer's Pit spinning in his chair and throwing pencils at the ceiling. It doesn't seem to be a secret that David, Mary and Sylvia have moved to Mysterious New IP.

I imagine they've probably finished all the writing for the final DLC, if that is what is being announced at PAX. 

 

... and writing for the next game, if there is a next game, probably won't begin in earnest until most of the writing for the next ME is done. I'm sure they've planned the release schedule for all three games so that they can move enough staff around at different times to make everything work.

I’d imagine the writing for ME:A is already mostly done with the exception of maybe codex type stuff and mission descriptions. They’ve supposedly been working on it since before the citadel DLC was released.

 

I also imagine some very early work has already started on DA4, nothing major, more along the lines of working out the absolute basics of the plot. Where is it being based? What/who is the main character? Who is the big bad? That kind of thing. They won't have hard set deadlines I imagine but they'll need to have a fair amount of the story done by the time the concept artists are freed up from other projects so they can hit the ground running and actually start breathing life into the story.

But that DLC was produced by a different team, that makes things a little harder predict.

True, but the Spoils DLC were small item packs and I have a theory that Hakkon's announcement timing was intended to minimize how long non-Xbox players would have to complain about having to wait.

"Doctoring" game footage? More like turning the shaders up in the vertical slice and not having enough space to optimize for the actual game

at work we've had the opposite problem where the fastest thing to finish is art, so it has looked "done" since day 1 haha

 

Sometimes we have character models and level art, but no animations or walkmesh. So everything is pretty until it tries to move.

 

At which point, Cole's pants run off without his torso, Cass slides slowly and falls into nothing, and Varric turns inside out.

Something that talks about the futility of modern life via floating eyeballs and weird TTS in a checkerboard landscape.

 

Did you ever see Horrible Claw Monster Isabela? Don't mixmatch rigs and meshes, kids.

Reading this makes me wish they would do a dev diary video or something with all the weird bugs they ran into during development. I seem to remember that they did one for Origins.

So in case they blow our minds and we get our Scout Harding romance in the last DLC, which races can flirt with her? Is it every one?

 

I want to level a Male Qunari after this character I'm doing, but if Male Qunari can't flirt with Harding, I'll level another Human I guess

Uh, writing is one of the first parts of the DLC to be finished, remember? It needs to go to voice acting and the localisation team.

 

I expect most of it was done months ago.
