Is the Elder One the biggest threat in the history of Thedas? #DAI

 That's... ominous...

The lead writer, the lead designer and the executive producer are the biggest threats   ;) They are more powerful than the sum of Maker, Creators, Old Gods and Titans.

And they chose to add this specific moment as well. Talk about foreboding.

"Beg that I succeed, for I have seen the throne of the gods, and it was empty."

Hmm... biggest intentional threat maybe. You know, since most of [Redacted]'s "threat" to Thedas is a result of unintended consequences.

I always felt there was someone BIGGER and BADDER who was actually pulling the strings, and The Elder One was just a pawn in the evil plot.

The Elder One? A threat?

The Inquisitor kicked his butt all over Thedas with little to no setbacks or losses if anything they are the biggest threat with the power and influence to boot!

You say that jokingly (I assume), but I actually was a little disappointed that there was no potential for the Inquisition to serve a darker purpose. There was the "I wonder what kind of Inquisitor you will be" line (paraphrased), and a few of your companions or advisors asking what the Inquisition stood for. Probably just role-play moments, and I appreciated them, but I always felt like the story of the Inquisition could take some much more interesting turns if it faced a potential corruption.

I don't expect it, though, but no matter what Pax brings, I'm looking forward to it :)

Corruption would be an interesting angle, I'd love to be able to play a "evil" inquisitor instead of an "arse" inquisitor but we won't get that option.

Spoiler
, and no doubt their shall be cults dedicated to the "Herald of Andraste" even if you didn't want to be called that. I also believe within the Inquisition's lower ranks their will be fanatical believers, it'd be interesting to see fanatics and cultists causing trouble for everyone else. But I think that's as far as they will go.

I just want some single player content to be honest, I still haven't touched multiplayer.

NOOOOO T_T

Spoiler

But, honestly, you don't think they would just give us an option to kill someone who may bring this promissed so-great-change we listen about since DAO IN A DLC, right?  ;)

Spoiler

And don't remind me of the promised great "change" lol, I'm still waiting to see it. Although I'm expecting Sandal to be the epicentre of that great change. Explains why we haven't seen it yet, because Sandal is absent!

I can't believe you used a Thor gif. It breaks my heart knowing just how nerfed he is in the movies lol

I'll be responding to this stuff in groups as I catch up on the thread. Sorry if I miss anything, since I'm going page by page.

That's assuming that the leaked survey actually said anything that's accurate. It might be however something completely different.

Anybody found it confusing/suspicious, that in last Twitch stream, when discussing stuff about Descent they mention (around 29:00 min into last twitch recording - http://www.twitch.tv...ware/v/10895159 - if anybody's interested) "oh, we probably should be working on something veeeery story heavy", than they say that they've left a little teaser, and THEN Mike Laidlaw asks "why would there even by challenges on Multiplayer with darkspawn, like... who can say?"

Sooo... is there more darkspawn content coming that we don't know of?

Yeah true. But I tend to think that an involvement of Qunari is at least likely, and Spoils of the Qunari DLC may mean something (considering that Spoils of the Avvar certainly did, tied to Jaws of Hakkon).

Wasn't that them just teasing Darkspawn MP before Darkspawn MP launched? I don't think the 'story heavy' and 'darkspawn MP' are linked.

All signs point to another blight. How many dragons are left? Maybe they all get awakened at once. Mega blight

There will be at least one more Blight of some sort, and it probably won't be as classic (except for the Architect involvement and such) as DAO's. Whether this will be a DA4 or after it, we dunno.

Two dragons left, barring some other sort of change/reveal.

I seriously think this next and last DLC is going to majorly change the rules and we will see just how in 4.

Like, you can have another blight, but boring, right? So you have to change the rules of the game- change how magic works or something- bring back all the silly Elvish gods, whatever- that would make it totally different. How do you fight an archdemon with hardly a single grey warden left and a bunch of crazy elven lunatics just let out of jail?

Random thought, but maybe we can at least consider purifying an archdemon instead of slaughtering it.

Switched to computer. Auto-correct turned me into a meanie.

I mean that no, the blight would be DA4. I think that this one you do whatever- whatever end game stuff they have to wrap up Inquisition- but whatever you do -causes- the "change of rules".

Like, in Buffy how in the comic they did something and the result was magic no longer existed, then they have to deal with whatever came next without magic.  That particular example wouldn't work in DA, but still. Would be cool to see the results from this next DLC be HUGE and a total game-changer for the rest of the series.

In DA it isn't that the magic is leaving, its that the magic is coming back :).

DAO Flemeth gives a few hints, DA2 she actively prepares, DAI she calls on the herald.... so yea, DA4 or DA5 would be the actual full gamechanging. It is also symbolic in several other ways: one is that DAI has the 'Breach', but a Breach is only the start of things like a flood, capsizing, whatever... 0_0

Qunari invasion would be a big one coming?

I have to give it to Dumat though, that blight nearly killed everyone.

I felt that way as well cus it never failed that we'd find some kind of blood magic circle near a veil artifact if that artifact was in its original location (and not in a chateau closet. Frickin' Orlesians. lol). Felt like someone was there before us to me. Plus, how I believe (based on in-game visual evidence and World of Thedas stuff)  Fen'Harel used to be well liked by the Dalish, and then the fall of the Dales and resulting diaspora happened and all the pantheon lore went through a single keeper and suddenly he's the Evil One. It just feels like someone with a vendetta was playing a long game against him while he slept. And the candidates for doing that include "gods", hence possible "bigger, badder" threat.

I don't think Cory knew he was serving someone else's ends, though. I think he was acting for himself alone.

Thedas has and still does face destruction through the Blights, but Corypheus and his felliws were the originators of that threat. The Breach could have consumed the entire world, destroying even those lands beyond Thedas.

So yes, he counts as the greatest threat to Thedas yet encountered. But there seems to be a greater villain for the entirety of Thedas, the one who betrayed Mythal.
