I hope they release it before November. There are already so many games coming out that month I won't know what to do.

I doubt it. From the sounds of things, it'll be a while until they release anything. 2016 at the earliest, though I wouldn't be surprised if it was 2017 when we finally start getting basic information.

Well if they’re announcing it at PAX then it’s most likely already gone through certification, so it’s as polished as its going to get.

Marketing doesn't really use the term "DLC".

"Expansion" in this sense just means it's an addition to the existing story, not that it's a traditional expansion pack (and the suggested price should make that clear to everyone).

Yeah, as much as I would love a bigger dlc, the price kind of makes me think you're right.

The only way some people would be happy is if you made an origins size dlc and called it Origins: DLC and it was basically just Origins but in a new package. And it was all about the HoF who has taken over the inquisition.

I don't think there's any specific limit now that they've dropped the old consoles.

But it's limited by the amount of content they can produce for it and sell for $15. So look at Jaws and think maybe a little more with an accompanying story mission and more character content (and a challenging new gameplay mode, whatever that means).

I'm wondering how big it could possibly be to only be priced at $15 USD.  It seems to me that if it were as massive as some believe it will be, the price would be higher.  They have to cover the cost of all the voice acting and animations and level creation etc., so... yeah.

 

A DLC could be pretty huge--maybe as big as an expansion if they really wanted it to be.  I think it's only limited by whatever the data limit is for the current gen consoles.  I'm not sure how big that is, but I'm sure it's nothing to scoff at.

 

I don't expect it to be bigger than Jaws of Hakkon though.  That took me around 10 hours to completely finish.  Of course there might be secrets I haven't found, but I'm pretty sure I completed it.

 

Something I wonder is whether we can continue the game after the next DLC if it is post-campaign, and if so, what will doing so add to that experience?  Could I play the main campaign, then this DLC, and then go take new gear into Jaws of Hakkon, or use some new feature of a presumably completely finished and repaired Skyhold to my advantage there?  (If we CAN repair Skyhold, then I hope there's good cause to do so.)

In terms of file size a DLC can in theory be around the same size as a full length game but I can’t think of any developer who actually does this. I can’t remember what the exact size limit is off the top of my head on current gen consoles but it’s roughly 10 times more than what was allowed on last gen, probably another thing that contributed to them dropping support.

Also I would just like to say that we don’t know the exact price of the DLC yet. We’re assuming it’s going to be around $15  because of the survey but it could easily have changed since then.

I guess it'd be much bigger than the Descent. Bigger than Joh and the Descent together. I mean...New bard songs, Leliana's VA had some recordings. It's a part of something bigger. I think we could get more than 2 new locations. 

Hoping that Skyhold is gonna get assaulted by Qunari. But I guess that's too much to ask for

You realize that if the price of this DLC goes any higher then $15, people on here would lose their minds? I'd be willing to pay more if that DLC turn out to be legit, but I can't tell how much more.

People on BSN lose their minds over anything and everything. I guarantee it, even if this DLC turns out to be bigger than any DLC BW have released before and is priced at $15 you will still get a load of whiners saying it’s too expensive.

Totally. Was about to mention both these points myself. 15$ could easily have changed. It was a survey after all. 


And with multiple areas "whole of thedas", new bard songs, etc it just seems like it'd be HUGE. Or multi-episode?

Well the price is mostly $15 or $20-$30 if it's a full on expansion
