If the next DA game releases in 2017, I'm totally okay with that. 2018 would be annoying though (but just annoying). In terms of Bioware gaming for me (bolded are the priority):
2015 - DAI DLC (once its all released, playing all together), ME trilogy full setup (PC platform 'canon' isn't even done yet, I was on 360 before), SWTOR:KOTFE
2016 - Alternate ME trilogy playthroughs (up to 5 more, if I'm crazy about it), alternate DA series playthroughs (if I'm really bored), SWTOR:KOTFE and beyond, MEA release (unless pushed back)
2017 - MEA if pushed back and its DLC, DA series if I didn't do it earlier, maybe ME trilogy if I didn't do it earlier, SWTOR stuff
And this doesn't count the 'New IP' (could release 2017 for all we know, making a DA4 more likely for 2018, or vice versa), and those rumors of Star Wars stuffs(?), and whatever unannounced projects.
I'd actually really prefer for a non-2016 release for DA4. Partially because of the DA2-related concerns, and partially because I want almost all news (except maybe about the New IP) to be about Mass Effect then. 2017 though? Have at it, DA fans (even if it ends up amounting to teasers for a 2018 release).
I would prefer for there to be 2-3 more SP DAI DLCs (one this Fall, one this Winter), not that combined-DLC (at least it sounds like it) rumor. Ideally, I'd have liked one primarily about Qunari, one primarily about Val Royeaux, and one primarily about the Fade, but whatever Bioware has planned, is probably mostly set in stone now.
Apologies for overuse of ()s
2017 or very early 2018 is a realistic expectation for Dragon Age 4, I would say 2017 more so because the engine is already in place. I imagine the delay before was making the Frostbite engine work...and trying to make it feasible to work with last gen consoles.
