I'm going to assume that Weekes doesn't have a super-obvious username on whatever platform he was playing multiplayer.  That, or the other players had no clue who Patrick Weekes actually is.  Booting a dev from your lobby?  Epic fail!

 

I have no personal knowledge of his play style, but being a developer doesn't automatically mean you're good at your own game. I wish they had a function to boot the numerous Bungie devs I used to come across playing Halo Reach. The majority of those guys were beyond horrible.

Does it bother anyone else that a major writer chooses not to use a snarky witticism over a raspberry?

Hell, I've chosen raspberry over a mature comment more than I care to count. Especially with my kids.

Sometimes a good raspberry is called for, which means we need in on the dialogue wheel!

Not to poke too much fun at this, but is Blair really the top choice for a Tank based on past performance?

Pause is God's gift to gaming. In my case it's because of two rugrats whose favorite word is "MOM!"

I am always sad when hardcore DA fans say that they will never try MP or never played it yet, Its such a pity. I mean the MP is so much fun and the people are nice and helpful. You can kill monsters and equip interesting characters with your friends. Its a lot of fun, dont get why people wont try it. There is fun experience u can gain and nothing to lose. If u dont like it, no one forces u to play ever again. But hardcore fans should atleast try what their favorite game offers. It doesnt matter if you are newbie or you are afraid, it really doesnt, no one will kill you, quite the opposite people are glad more people are playing. After few games you will be more than okay. And dont even bring up ME3 MP, cuz DAI MP doesnt affect singleplayer and its just a nice addition to play, not to mention ME3MP was okay

May be missing something here, but an apparent female gamer is having difficulty getting attention of a gaming site? My questions: Is this a good or bad thing? Is this even possible?

haha I don't use a mic in multiplayer stuff, just listen, and I doubt anyone guesses in DA multiplayer off my username that I'm a woman. Also thanks to rarely actually being able to find groups I'm still an amateur at the mp, which really doesn't help me. It's unfriendly for new players in my experiences. It's almost depressing now so I very rarely try to play it anymore, the multiplayer side is really not enjoyable when you end up solo majority of the time, or in a group of rude people if you don't know exactly what to do and where to go all the time.

Most of the people I run into are very nice to play with, sucks to hear that you alway run into jerks.

Well if anyone was around in that thread derailment my Origin name is the same as my username here. I'm still waiting for my pc to get back from the store, getting upgraded/fixed etc. Should only be another week haha.

I don't know. Even if he's bad at it, it's still rude to boot someone who had such a big role in the creation of the game...

I stopped playing because I can't host without everyone else lagging, and I can't play with most others without lagging myself. Not worth the frustration and the wait for decent lobbies.

In my experience, a lot of the attention you get for specifically being a woman is not positive, and some of that attention is positively idiotic (I.e. "Allow me to explain to you how to play this game you have had since launch and are kicking my butt at."). I had relatively good luck with that on Mass Effect mp and DAIMP, but even then there were times... So it's often better to not use my mic.

I imagine I would get more play if people thought I was a girl but I use my husband's xbox profile, so unless I hop on to talk, I'm automatically a guy.

 

I remember in ESO they were flipping out when they found out I was a girl once I grabbed my mic.   And the guys there, beyond a few, are unbearably crude. Why can't you just play with a girl without hitting on her or being crude and mean and telling me to come suck his d.
