Greetings! I see we haven't met....

*would not wish to injure others in an attempt to see DA-MP; was a reason I played SWTOR solo*

 

I also solo SWTOR. I find that the players there are pretty hardcore and have no time for n00bs. Some people are rude but most pretend you don't exist and try to rush through the flashpoints on their own.

 

I'm also not very good at it (not awful or anything) so I never feel like I'm pulling my weight. It also doesn't help that there are 10 billion abilities which are so situational I hardly ever use them.

 

DAMP is another story in that I know what I'm doing (if not where I'm going) most of the time. It's a fun way to kill time but it can get repetitive after a while.

 

I wish Bioware would make an MMO with fast paced hack and slash combat (with native controller support) that also had the breadth and story telling of SWTOR... but with better graphics.

 

I would play the s*** out of that game.

In my experience, a lot of the attention you get for specifically being a woman is not positive, and some of that attention is positively idiotic (I.e. "Allow me to explain to you how to play this game you have had since launch and are kicking my butt at."). I had relatively good luck with that on Mass Effect mp and DAIMP, but even then there were times... So it's often better to not use my mic.

As I recall in the age before mics, one could gain bonus XP for simply being an actual female gamer. They had more power than a DM's eraser, and could command attention from an entire room of gaming lads by asking the simplest of questions. Asking for help in purchasing gear would halt play for ages.

And people are idiots; I know because I am a people. Men are simply are more experienced at it....

Pause is God's gift to gaming. In my case it's because of two rugrats whose favorite word is "MOM!"

Yelled at highest volume possible in high pitch girl voices.

My daughter is turning one next week so right now she's not disrupting on my gaming time. Though she has turned off the PS4 and tv while in her walker.

Even now, I agree with the pause button because sometimes I have to be mommy in the middle of a boss fight. Also, sometimes I just want to give my girl affection . I have a rule to not play MP when she's awake or home haha

Knowing this would be kinda off-topic, I went snooping around Multiplayer thread for PS4 players. Those threads look a bit forgotten  (unless, I am blind, which could be the case). So if anyone is looking for PS4 players DM me I really want to get into multiplayer, but finding the party is bit hard. Especially since I have just one average levelled with basic gear and weapons.

Ha! All this talk of being "outed" as a female gamer has gotten me all nostalgic. I've been lucky though as I tended to play MMO's that seemed to attract far fewer idiots. LOTRO was the best for it, especially the RP servers. I remember the joy at joining a quick dungeon run group and finding out via voice chat that 4 out of 12 in the group were women. It was like coming home.

 

Still though, the thing I found funniest was the number of guys who make female pc's, dress them in skimpy clothes and then ask for things in the chat tabs. It always makes me laugh. "Ooooh, I don't have a mic, but I'm a 19 year old Russian model who just doesn't know how to get gold and gear. Oh, what's that? You'll give me all your gold and gear if I send you a pic and pretend to be interested in you *googles Russian models* Done! Gimmie your stuff. Byez!"

 

Hmm wonder if LOTRO is still going...*wanders off*
