It was going to happen eventually, and the trailer has a certain note of finality to it.
Well, part of me was holding onto the hope that Bioware was going to stop the "new protagonist each game" thing and have the Inquisitor be the protagonist in DA4 as well. But that hope has been shot down now.

The warden was not an outsider who was imposing their will on them...
I don't recall imposing my will on Fereldan. I had little hope Orlais would be a long term ally, regardless of the rulership I left in charge, but Fereldan I'm confused by.

Yes they were. The Warden could be a Dwarf, and Elf, or a Mage that was directly involved in dictating what they should do. We even overthrow their current ruler and choose who the ruler should be.
That too. ![]()

"Tribunal: Charge #134, the killing of 10 rams in the area known as the Hinterlands. Do you deny this charge?"
"Inquisitor: We needed the food, people were starving!"
"Tribunal: Did you have a hunting permit?"
Hahahhaa.

I wonder if we'll finally get helmets for Qunari Inquisitors since there are Qunari NPCs with them.

And the Inquisitor is? I don't remember the Inquisitor doing much other than save the world with the help of society's outcasts. Of course, lots of things could've happened in two years.
Kinda. The so save the world but they have to become a political wedge to do so. Remember, alot of your war table activities are political. Added, you have on of the greatest military forces at you're call.(To pick a daisy chain of flowers and a few rocks.)

Imposed is based on perspective.

With the breach closed, I wondered if they were going to address the fact that the Inquisitor has the ability to manipulate the Fade at will and people might not be a 100% cool with that anymore. As quickly as people are to ask for your help when they need it, they're just as quick to drop you like a hot potato when the situation calls for it.

It does require an action that could be perceived as an imposition, though. I never made Fereldan do anything.

I imagine that the dispute is less because of what you've done for them and more because you are becoming very powerful. With that power, you threaten the power of the leadership of Ferelden and Orlais, even if you have no intention of being anything more than a neutral arbiter, never reaching for further power.
It's kind of like how the final boss looks at you as a threat, even if you don't have any intention whatsoever to rival him.

They won't until it's officially released by Bioware.
